I think this deserves its own thread
Very disappointed; more a distraction than positive
Replays - not good Sound - bad Basic score board info- not good e.g. down & distance
Fan experience programming; needs to be much better e.g. location of kiosks & other facilities, player recognition
other?

You should be happy that you weren't able to see the replays

Like everything else, a tool is only as good as the person using it. That is good feedback on the newest toy at FF. I hope the operators learn quickly how to give the viewers what they want to see. BTW - The signal at my home went from sharp and right on to fuzzy and almost impossible to watch. I hope that improves as well.

You should be happy that you weren't able to see the replays very few replays were shown... "Replay" or "Under Review" was shown frequently but no video of the play the few HC hi lights were shown at half time

HC & the PL do not have to go big time to get the refs' mics and the scoreboard functioning properly. As was stated it takes trained personnel to set up & operate the equipment. It annoys me that a school which purports to be first class repeatedly does not do things (add TV feeds)in a first class way. The school comes across as second rate, bush league.

If pandemic preference for outdoor gatherings extends for longer than any of us would like, HC may have a potential asset. It looks like more than half of the 3000 seats at the Fitton baseball stadium (has the Hanover Insurance Park naming rights finally run out?) have comfortable chair back seats that would be amenable to outdoor viewing of movies, away football games, ppv events, etc. if and when that facility gets a video scoreboard. The field also has lights which could make it safer and more comfortable for night time events, with maybe a $1.99 dimmer switch from Home Depot to adjust the lights up and down as needed.🙂
I wonder if any thought was given to a slightly larger two sided video board that would cover both stadiums. Nah, that would make things too easy for the tailgaters.🙂

After yesterday' embarrassment, I'm in a grumpy old man mood. 76, same old, same old except for a brief 10 yr. Camelot in the '80's. Do not want to step on any toes. DAMN!

For four afternoons a year, can't a couple of the existing staffers be cross trained to operate the video board? I thought Daktronics included training in the cost of the board. Reminds me of when my people came over from Ireland in the late 1800s and formed an Irish Club. At the first meeting someone stood up and said the club should have chandeliers. Another member, also right off the boat stood up and said "Yes, but who here can play them?"

Seems like we could pretty easily hire the guy who operates the board at Polar Park or the DCU on a freelance basis. Why spend all the money on the board if we don’t know how to use it?

In the meantime, for those who were dissatisfied with the fan experience from yesterday’s game, I suggest you contact Derrick Light, Director of Athletics Marketing & Fan Experience. Maybe your recommendations will bring about the necessary changes for the next home game. goholycross.com/staff-directory/derrick-light/307

It may not be so much as a person knowing how to operate the video board, but the need for software and technical support updates. We have heard there is a supply chain issue for Daktonics. Send Derrick a note, hope he will give you an explanation. If so, please share.
