Just replayed the HC win over Lehigh for inspiration. The color guy noted we had no one on the all league team. Prognosticated we would have some in 2017.

Fwiw, USA Today named Malachi to its pre-season all-PL team, along with Kempton, Foulland, Ross, and Fanning..

Considering that those all PL teams were selected based only on the in season games, this was understandable.

I think with MA, RC, and KC we could have 1 on the first team and 1 or 2 on PL second team along with TC on all-rookie team--optimistic but realistic I think

I think many would conclude that CLS is more of a prototype PO player than TC and that should help him a lot. If if you have any more preseason insights or peeks behind the curtain we'd love to hear them. really looking forward to this season!!!

"On offense, they should continue their methodical pace led by senior point guard Anthony Thompson. The 5-foot-11 (?) point guard will have no shortage of 3-point options when the shot clock winds down."Let's hope that they are wrong about that.

I think that I know what you mean, but I believe the author is referencing that we have multiple three point shooters.

the hc fan in me thinks our team/ma may been snubbed to a degree, but the objective realist in me can understand both a 4th place finish and not having ma on the first team.
as a team, we have to show that we can consistently beat teams in the league (especially on the road) and that last year's postseason run was not a fluke. we know carmody can coach, but will we get more consistency out of the roster? even our top players - ma, rc, and kc - were pretty inconsistent on a game to game basis last year. it was not uncommon to see one of them score 18-20 points one night, and then go out and score 5 or 6 points the next game. husek also falls into that category as he was an offensive and defensive force sometimes, and completely disappeared other times.
most specifically, unless production at both positions improves by leaps and bounds, we have a hole the size of the grand canyon at point guard (we simply need MUCH better production from at, pb, mz, cls [ encouraging report, hoops!], or whoever else will be getting the minutes) and a big question mark at center as well (husek showed flashes & i think stevens will contribute, but production at the position was highly inconsistent last year).
i think a 3rd or 4th place prediction is reasonable, although i think we can repeat as pl tournament champions if we get consistent production and leadership from at least one of ma and rc, both of whom have all-league potential, as does kc (to ky's point). i also think stevens is a big x-factor. if he can come in and contribute right away as i think he can and predict he will, we will be in business. we are certainly strong at the 2-4 spots with ma, kc, rc, mz, cls, tc, etc.
as for ma, while i personally would have voted him first team, the biggest improvement in a player's development is often between freshman and sophomore year, and as such, i can see jones getting the nod. fortunately, i think we will have at least one all-pl first team player come the end of the season when it matters... and it could be any of ma, rc, or kc.
this is going to be a very interesting season, and what i expect to see is a winning record, with a top-half regular season pl finish, and at least one pl tournament win.
what i hope to see, and i don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility, is another pl tournament championship!

I think that we may have to be patient with JS. Remember that we had MA play a lot at the 5 in our successful stretch at the end.
