Sluka was dinged up last week not sure he plays anymore today.

This is one heck of a (Ky Crusader please look away) TRAP game for Monmouth. It also illustrates just how good Merrimack is.

Siderman needs to be the #1 QB. Totally opens up the offense and all leverages all of our talented WRs. Sluka should be a wildcat / goal line/ kill clock option. Yeah, I think Sluka provides versatility in short yardage/goalline situations, but Siderman looks like he can sure sling it.

Now let's see if we can continue our pattern of scoring more in the second half than in the first...

The last play of the game was a choice between a long, long fg try or a Hail Mary. An instance where either choice is as good as the other.

HC has 314 yards on offense to 97 for Monmouth. Remember this is not only an experienced Monmouth team (ranked #20 in the country), they have many red shirts playing. 20 in all (15 grad students, 5 redshirt seniors).

Siderman the better passer but he needs time that the O-line sometimes can’t give him. Sluka needs less time to make things happen.
After loosening up the Monmouth defense, I think it allowed Chesney to bring Marco in.
A good 1-2 punch. Let’s see if we can keep it up in the 2nd half.

Given the opponent, being on the road etc...I'd argue that was the best half of HC football since the Carter/Duffner era

Do we bring Sluka back in the second half to direct a run-focused offense that eats up the clock?

We do seem to have overcome our traditional "slow start" and put the brakes on the fast start that Monmouth has shown this year. Can this continue in the second half? If Sluka is not hurt, IMHO we will see him in there again to start the second half.

In other PL games: Columbia still leads Georgetown 21-17 (G is coming back after trailing. by two scores early). Colgate leads Lehigh (24-3) and, of course, HC leads Monmouth (28-0)
All 3 games are at the half.
