Opera?? Doesn’t the NCAA prohibit the torturing of student-athletes? The NCAA put up with Bobby Knight for years.

Opera?? Doesn’t the NCAA prohibit the torturing of student-athletes? Not all opera is torture. I particularly enjoyed "Kill The Wabbit" by Wagner

Zach Braziller @nypost_Brazille · 3h Four-star guard Will Richardson, of Bergen Catholic/PSA Cardinals, has committed to Fordham University. Jio Fontan 2008 was their last 4Star Recruit. Big get.

Could/would Nelson ever hire Willard “in a special advisory role?”
Or maybe Pat Flannery? 😂

Why not? While I was mostly kidding as evidenced by my second comment, I know you know Ralph and I confident you are serious.
Issues with HC (McFarland is gone)? Issues with Nelson? Or just too comfy in retirement? Please don’t tell me he's waiting to help Iona!😉

Could/would Nelson ever hire Willard “in a special advisory role?” Or maybe Pat Flannery? 😂 I know you were joking, but here’s a quick update on Flannery. He retired from his position at Bucknell this past spring, as did his wife who worked in admissions. They have relocated to the Hershey area, near where he grew up. He ran a couple of basketball camps in that area this summer.

I wish the Flannerys a healthy, rewarding, and long lasting retirement. He was a heck of a coach, but very entertaining when he lost his temper on the sidelines

It was rumored on the Fordham board about three months ago, but only confirmed recently.

I purposely didn't include McCaffrey in my joke above because Ralph and Pat are retired (I know, Pat still technically working) but McCryBaby is still a full time coach last I heard.
Now, if you prefer, we could bring Bill Carmody back as special assistant.

Hire as many special advisors as necessary to win the "My athletic department deficit is bigger than your athletic department deficit" spitting contest.
Can't coaches call older members of their coaching "tree" for free?

Would be shocked if he hasn't called his mentors. I think many of us here think he shouldn't be calling his mentors (as he probably has but w/o success) and instead be calling Willard.

Willard stopped by on his own accord this summer, based on the context I assumed from the posted photo. I bet Ralph is not only happy to chat but glad there is someone who can benefit from his knowledge of ten years coaching and recruiting at HC and the PL. It's a specialized unit of experience not everybody at the Donut Shop is interested in delving into over a senior coffee. That part of his experience has an ideal audience of one right now.

I waited my 24 hours
