Season ticket holders can get free tickets to the UNH game. Decided to beat the rush Saturday and went to ticket booth. One guy and had no clue about the free tickets but showed him the email and after at least 10-15 minutes fave me the tickets.
Also , scoreboard up in east side but being handled like the football scoreboard the first 3 games. In other words badly.
Not a D-1 operation - yet.
HC92 here with his kids but no other Crossporters seen.
Sparse crowd as expected. Good to see a pretty effective full court pressure but they are D-3.

You missed some good play by HC - all 10 who played. HC shot 50% from the floor - 45% from 3 pt land. Also 72% on its free throws - getting better there

I believe you. I just didn't see you. Probably sounds inconsistent but really isn't.

It was nice to see the team have a bit of success no matter the division of the opponent. Those players were undersized but they competed and had some skills, especially in the “lost art” of mid range jumpers. The crowd was pretty small (~300), but it looked like the crowd might have included some local families with young kids responding to the free admission promo - running around having fun, but not necessarily attuned to the game.

I realize this comment is totally irrelevant, but... The College of Mt Saint Vincent is a wonderful school. I wonder how many HC alums married women from The Mount. Obviously, like many small LACs they're trying to find a way to thrive. I suspect they are hoping a more high profile sports program might help them. I wish them well.

Based on the snapshot of this team as it exists in November, they're getting blown out by mid-major D-I's. At least they're beating up on the low end D-III teams. Two years ago we couldn't say that.

What a great idea. I wonder if any other colleges could do that?

Unlike many elite schools for example, NESCAC, the Ivies many colleges are forced(?) to rely on athletics to enhance their brand. I find this reality unfortunate. Mount Saint Vincent is a college with extremely limited financial resources. The school does not have a tradition with emphasis on intercollegiate athletics as does HC. The situation in Riverdale is quite a bit different from the situation in central Mass. My comment was a bouquet to the Mount more than a prescription for success. Quite possibly there might be some on this site who have a closer connection to the Mount. Happy Thanksgiving.

MSV received a D grade in Forbes' latest college financial grades. That is the lowest financial grade available for a college that is still operational.

According to Forbes: Providence College is one of the most prominent schools in the bottom third of the rankings, sliding to a C-minus grade after posting a B five years ago. The Catholic school, located not far from Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design and Johnson & Wales, closed a $187 million fundraising campaign in 2017, but its dependence on tuition has only grown, with tuition and fees accounting for 79% of its core revenues in 2018, and its liquidity is tight. Last May, S&P revised its outlook on Providence’s debt to negative from stable, though it maintained its single A rating on its debt. www.forbes.com/sites/schifrin/2021/02/22/college-financial-grades-2021-will-your-alma-mater-survive-covid/?sh=12163d714916Many believe that The Big East is everything (all that) and a bag of chips. Financially it does not appear to have provided the bonanza that many have assumed. We should be all thankful on this Thanksgiving, that Holy Cross is on solid financial ground for survival in the forthcoming years.
