Has anyone else ordered the T-shirts or caps from Holy Cross besides me?
If so, did you receive your order or, failing that, get any communication as to the delay?

I also got a notice that due to supply chain issues all orders would be delayed. I hope I get mine for Christmas...but we'll see. Merry Christmas, sader1970.

Thanks, Rob. Merry Christmas and I'll raise you a Happy New Year! While I got it 2nd hand there would be delays - from a staffer, it was not his area of responsibility, he referred me to the guy responsible but that guy never got back to me on any kind of timeframe for the delay. They were intended as Christmas gifts and time is running short for that.

It is indeed. Perhaps we will eventually be getting them in time to celebrate our 4th straight PL title!

Was running some family errand and got back to receive a package from HC Athletics.
I ordered 3 T-shirts and 2 caps. Package felt a little light and, sure enough, I got 2 T-shirts and no caps.
I tried to call Derrick Light rather than email him yet again. Went to voicemail immediately and I left a message inquiring where the rest of my order was. Not holding my breath I'll get a call anytime soon. (Hope he makes a liar out of me and call shortly).
Rob, did you get anything yet?

So, besides RGS and me, has anyone else ordered any shirts or caps from Holy Cross? If so, did you receive all of your items? I just left a message for perhaps the 3rd time for the athletic department asking about the status of my order since no one actually answers when you call or email. I did receive, 2 of the 3 shirts I ordered but none of the 2 caps. I'm now asking for a refund if they can't tell me why they couldn't get them to me since November 22 until now. It's a new year!

As of about 5 minutes ago, he does not yet have an HC email but I did use the normal format for HC staff and sent him a congratulatory email a couple of weeks ago that didn't kick back.
I don't want to follow that up so quickly with a complaint and have reached out to Derrick Light and Nick Smith and just now the assistant to Derrick. I suspect most were on extended time off for the holidays. I'll give it the end of the week and then go to Kit.

Just received a call from "Doreen" who tells me they just put my 3rd shirt in the mail today. When asked what the issue was, she said "in our rush to get the shirts out before the holidays, we didn't scroll over far enough to see you ordered 2 large shirts and thought just 1 large and 1 medium. You weren't the only one this happened to."
As for the caps, they expect them to be received at Holy Cross next week and will send them out when they get them. The cap issue is being chalked up to "supply chain issues."

Same as HC hoop wins, it would appear. Hope that "supply chain" gets fixed quickly.

Kit will arm wrestle the global supply chain bottleneck into submission between straightening out the basketball and hockey programs. Too bad all the textile Mills on the Blackstone River closed so we didn't have to have our swag made in Malaysia.
What he can fix is HC employees communicating directly with customers about the partial fulfillment status of their orders. Looks like he got Doreen to do that on his first day.

I guess with my 3 t-shirts they thought my order was totally fulfilled with the 2. The caps, however, was a total lack of communication. And, they basically ignored my follow-ups until today. Again, holidays as the excuse, perhaps? Agree, Kit needs to light a fire under some of the folks in the department. As one of our posters always says, "they need to start acting like a D1 program." Oh, by the way, notice on the link here that the staff directory does not list email addresses not only for Kit, but Nelson, Magarity, Riga and Chesney but do for most of the other varsity team head coaches. I'm pretty sure that in the past, all the head coaches emails were listed. Someone obviously made a conscious choice: goholycross.com/staff-directory

I'm rooting for GU to upgrade FB just like you are. The Fordham game was exciting to look forward to. It would be great to play other PL games with post season ramifications for both teams.

It's more than Georgetown. Bucknell is going nowhere, Lehigh won't get going again until after Gilmore leaves, Lafayette is starting over, and Fordham is replacing up to 33 seniors and 5th years.

Yeah, right now I would put Colgate as the program that poses the biggest obstacle to a 4-peat.....Fordham could be tough if they return players like DeMorat and Greenhagen and others for covid extra years. Going to be a long off-season given the Spring schedule we were able to enjoy in 2021.

I agree with most of your points, but you (and others) may we be surprised by Lehigh and Gilmore in 2022. Coach Gilmore turned around HC although like Coach Magarity at UNH, couldn't keep it turned around. Perhaps Lehigh will enjoy the sweet spot of his shelf life over the next few years. Perhaps ADs like MB and the Lehigh AD who hired Gilmore care more about documented proof a coach can turn around a mid major or FCS program more than whether they can sustain it in perpetuity because they are realistic about the challenges of the level of D-1 the sport they are hiring for operates in and/or assume their own shelf life probably won't survive more than the initial coaching cycle of whoever they hire. In any case good luck to Coach Gilmore and Lehigh so we can upgrade PL FB.

Gilmore is in an uncomfortable seat at Lehigh in 2022--not hot, but uncomfortable. In year three at HC he had a 7-4 record and won the PL title three years later, which earned him a degree of protection when the results started to slide. In his third year at Lehigh he was 3-8 (7-18 to date) and the Engineers haven't had a winning season since 2016, under former coach Andy Coen. Excepting John Troxell, five of the six returning PL coaches are under .500 at their current schools. Stan Dakosty: 5-6 Joe Conlin: 14-23 Tom Gilmore: 7-18 Dave Cecchini: 6-20 Rob Sgarlata: 23-53

Probably every football coach in the PL, except, Chesney, are in "uncomfortable" positions. TG looked to be turning a corner at Lehigh the last few games. He'll be fine if they continue the upward trajectory.

I believe the Lehigh teams dropped the Engineer name several years back and are now known as the Mountain Hawks.
