Maybe Holloway can come to Holy Cross. And bring his entire team with him. To be nit-picky about that sentiment, HC doesn't offer the majors.

Here in NJ, the talk has been that Holloway is the prime candidate to replace Kevin W at Seton Hall.

God-awful facilities, administrative negligence - and yet. . . .
Great coach who brings in the right players, the building doesn't matter. Bad coaches and kids who treat a college like a bus stop, then even the Luth is just high-priced lipstick on a pig.

That was not a fluke - SPU has excellent players and a better coach Really happy for the school and their alums I honestly think that these bigger teams are having trouble with Saint Peter's smaller guards and their absolutely mastery of basketball fundamentals. Have they even missed a free throw yet in the tournament? Taking down Kentucky and UNC would be basketball nirvana. It is so refreshing to watch them play.

Saint Peter's is 60 fot 73= .822 on free throws in last three games. For the total season the team has shot.700 for #234 in the country. Villanova is #1 for the season at an extraordinary .826

I would like to know what St Peter’s FT % is in the last 4 minutes

IIRC, Bobby Kelly's dad was the coach there. He was a school principal somewhere to boot.
That's right, a good 15-20 years after Jack Donahue became HC's first full time basketball coach, St. Peter's still was part time.
I saw them play in the NIT in 1968. A guy named Elnardo Webster scored 51 points in the game I saw, against Marshall. 53 points is the NIT record, but he got 23 baskets, and that is a NIT record.
Next round they beat Duke rather soundly; Duke was second in the ACC that year but lost in the conference tournament (lost to NC State in the tournament, 12-10; not a joke), so they ended up in NYC

Elnardo Webster died last week. Many of his teammates were in Philadelphia last night The long time coach/AD was Don Kennedy Sr.

According to our fact book, we played a "friendly" with them either in 90-91 or 91-92 (there is no month or year in the book, only 1991). So, either the first or second year HC was in the Patriot League.
Surprised the relationship ended completely at that point. A few other former MAAC rivals have continued to some degree; Fairfield and Siena perhaps the most frequent.

Sound familiar...
“I didn’t go to school here,” said Larry Portocelli, who was standing in front of McDermott Hall on the school’s postage-stamp-sized campus, near the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard. He was waiting on a friend and together they’d hoped to see if the school’s bookstore was open Saturday (it wasn’t, alas). “My friends all around the country want Saint Peter’s gear. Who doesn’t love a story like this?”

St. Peter's won, 76-73, went on to go 24-7, and made it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. (It was HC's inaugural season in the PL.)

Maybe this run will demonstrate what happens with fundamentals and team dynamics and will swing the pendulum back to a better philosophical era in college basketball.

At one point in the Purdue game, St. Peter's put in 5 subs for their 5 starters and there was no noticeable drop in play. Overall, their players were so much faster (and smaller) than Purdue. They have won 10 straight after being just 12-11. Amazing.

Don't want to jinx them, but as great as their run has been, they have the opportunity to take this up even another level. Can you imagine taking out UNC and Duke??!!! C'mon basketball gods, the hi majors get all the breaks - let us have this just one time!!
By the way, has anyone done a wellness check on Jay Bilas (or Billy Packer) lately?

UNC is hot as a pistol right now. Thumped Duke at Cameron to close out regular season in Coach K's last game -- they did lose first round of ACC to VT, who ended up winning the tourney. Blew out the #9 seed Marquette in the first round by 30+. Held on to beat region's top seed Baylor after blowing 25 pt. lead. Beat UCLA to advance to regional final. St. Peter's will need to play 40 min of their best ball and hit 90% of their FT once again to keep the story going.

Is the guy on the ACC Network Packer's son?
Getting back to the tournament itself, first time NC will play Duke in a Final Four game. I'm sure K will not mind losing his last game at Cameron in exchange for a win next Saturday.
