for those who watched the game, was this performance as pathetic as it looks by the box score? we're not going to beat anybody if rc and ma go a combined 6-26 and we allow our opponent to shoot nearly 60%.
syracuse is a tough match up for us (and almost anybody, which is why they're in the top 20) and we have some holes on this team, but we need to do better than this.

This big loss is much more understandable than our football loss to Fordham. LIkely Syracuse will end the season ranked higher than #18.
Hopefully we got a big payday and no one was injured.
AT shot much better from beyond the arc but couldn't believe RChamp after getting fouled beyond the arc whiffed all 3 free throws.
Fatigue an an issue with 2 games in 3 days plus travel from SC to upstate (excuse me "Central New York")?
With the Orange height and 2-3 zone, no one should have expected much inside scoring from the Crusaders.
UMass and Harvard should look easy by comparison.

Totally overwhelmed.....but outside of deducing that the team is not ready on 11/15/16 to play a top seed in the NCAA tournament, I don't think this says much about what we will do in Jan-Feb.....unless the guys totally let it get in their heads. And maybe by February TC will be that longer perimeter guy we could use right now.

I found it interesting that at around the 4 or 5 minute mark - a minute or two before Syracuse subbed out - our offense started to work it down low and try to score inside. I didn't notice this at all prior to this (I missed the 1st 3 minutes of the game). It seemed to open things up a bit. The earlier continual passing around the perimeter seemed totally futile.

It was that bad, dado. Reminded me of our game against UConn during the 2011-12 season (77-40 final score). Tonight was a mixture of not having the talent to compete (obviously), not being prepared to play, and for whatever reason being completely flat. How can the team not look excited in game two of the year at the Carrier Dome.
We didn't have a plan tonight.

Carmody has got to go to Pine, like Willard went to Regan, and say, "Schedule no more of these games." Pine has raised $50000000. Isn't that enough? From the stats the Matts and Karl were no-shows.

Even if our style of play worked(which it doesn't) we are too small, lack strength, talent just not there. I know we caught lightning in a bottle for four games, but for most of the year, we were a bad team with the same weakness we saw in last two games. Can't blame CMB any longer, but we have a coach with different philosophy and a team who is not suited for that style. Will be another long season. Maybe next year we will see some players who fit CWC's style and he can implement a structure. If we see the last two games over and over, might need a different direction. Time will tell

Your paragraph is interesting but flawed . I believe you have the coaches mixed up. Are you suggesting if there is more of the same that Bill Carmody is gone? Is the loss mitch hahn hurting us as much as anything?

Talent isn't there yet.
Are there lingering issues with Charles' injury? He looks like a totally different player through two games, and not in a good way. Don't understand why he wouldn't be starting, assuming he's 100% healthy, which I suspect he's not.
Benzan is a nice reserve guard to spell Ant, but he's too limited offensively to play 30 minutes.
Floyd is pretty active out there, but doesn't seem like he will ever be able to be a legitimate offensive threat without a jump shot. Husek has been invisible thus far. So there goes our 5 spot.
If Champion has an off night, points seem like they will be hard to come by.
So, yeah, this roster still has holes. Think it's good enough to compete just fine in the PL, but we are looking at a .500 season (plus or minus a couple of games).
All that said, we didn't look ready to play at all tonight. That's on Carm.

Dado, We had a clear plan and Boeheim did not outcoach CBC. Our players put forth a good effort. They were very frustrarpted. We tried to get it inside. Most of the time we could not. The next resort was to take threes. We shot terribly, a common occurrence for teams playing in that Dome for the first time.(not an excuse, a reality) Syracuse had little trouble with our defenses, mostly a match up. They shot the lights out. I believe that we will play two short guards less in the future and that KC will increasingly get more minutes.

The next resort was to take threes. We shot terribly, a common occurrence for teams playing in that Dome for the first time.(not an excuse, a reality) Come on, we did not have a plan, and hinting that we did is just grasping at straws. Any semblance of a defensive gameplan was totally nonexistent. We were making little to no effort to get the ball inside, especially early on when it felt like our guys were just playing catch with the ball around the NBA 3-point line for the vast majority of our possessions. Also, at some point early in the game we were shooting 5-8 from 3 (tough to shoot better than that) and still down by around 20. Don't get me wrong, Syracuse looks like a very good team. But tonight was a total failure at every level. There is an ugly trend developing with good teams shooting well over 50% against us. Recruiting better shooters for our team is not going to fix that.

A successful veteran coach always has a plan, even if he has only one day to practice it. Whether that plan is executed depends upon the players of both teams.

Saw no plan in either game. Passing around the arc, soon as it hit top of key, zipped right back to the arc. Defense and offense run away from rebounds or are in horrible position(this I totally don't under stand) do we think we will win any games getting out rebounded by 20? I hope we get a better rotation, but MZ showed me why PB is playing the 2. He still looks in a funk from last year. UMASS?, Harvard and Monmouth look like huge tasks, this team that played last two game will he shellacked!! Need some tough practices between now and Sunday. Nobody should be proud or see any bright sides to these games. Bury them and start new on Sunday

AT went 4-9 from beyond the arc today---I'll take that as a real positive and hope it's the sign of his improved shooting and not just an anomaly
