Winning goal under review. Video referral. I saw five referrals in one half at UConn on Friday. It was BRUTAL.

And Stanford is in America East for Field Hockey with UC Davis. The Aggies head coach left after last season to go to Brown.

HC defeats UC Davis. Congratulations!
DAVIS, Calif. – The Holy Cross field hockey team continued their season in California with a matchup at UC Davis where the Crusaders emerged with the 3-2 win.
The win sends the Crusaders to 1-1 and the Aggies to 0-1 on the season. Senior midfielder Sinead Walsh led the Crusaders to victory with one goal and one assist in the game. HOW IT HAPPENED: Junior forward Allie McDonough scored the first goal of the game 4:19 into the second quarter. UC Davis' Skylar Richards followed up with a goal four minutes later at 8:32 of the second quarter to tie the game at 1-1. Grace Austin of the Aggies notched another goal 2:59 into the third quarter. Walsh tallied a goal with an assist from sophomore forward Meggan Fourie off of a corner attempt at 10:37 of the third quarter. Moments later, senior midfielder Gabby Venezia capitalized on a corner attempt with an assist from Walsh at 13:20. OUTSIDE THE BOX: The Aggies outshot the Crusaders 9-8. Both junior goaltender Brooke Ross and UC Davis goaltender Kalli Wagnon made three saves in the game. UP NEXT: The Crusaders will return to New England for a trip to Fairfield, Connecticut where they will face the Fairfield University Stags on Sept. 2 at 4 p.m.

Goals and assists from South Africa and Boston suburbs. Nice to have a pipeline to somewhere with positive results to build on. When HC tosses a wide recruiting net it has to use more resources to introduce itself and define the school than league rivals such as B.U., Army, Navy.
I wonder why Army and Navy don't offer field hockey? The core schools of HC, Colgate, Bucknell, Lehigh and Lafayette really support the league. But like in FB, a seven team league increases the odds of getting the auto bid to the NCAA tournament. Go Cross!

Head Coach Lindsay Jackson hasn't had a winning season yet at HC but she had six years head coaching experience before HC and was named the D-2 national coach of the year by Synapse Sports in 2014.
She hasn't turned bread into wine so far at HC but FH isn't in as tough a spot as some minor sports. I like HC hiring head coaches who have proved themselves in lower divisions.

OK, I admit, my theology lessons are way in the past but I don't think even Jesus turned bread into wine at that big wedding. Wasn't it water into wine? I am stand ready to be corrected.

I think I was hungry rather than thirsty when I made the reference. Turning bread into wine would be closer to getting blood from a stone which is what our new interim Development head is charged with.🙂

Very odd as I saw Holy Cross Field Hockey practicing at Providence College on 10-7.... Probably installing the track that surrounds the field hockey field. The field hockey field is done and is already in use.

I believe the new track is still under construction based on the video from the Davidson game. Probably the field was not available. When I was last on campus several weeks ago, the new track was far from being completed.
Has anyone seen the revised plan for the track? It was originally scheduled to be finished by the end of September.

It has an "S" curve now.🙂 How can you revise a regulation track?
