Rancho Santa Margarita was the first high school for the commit from Milton GA who decommitted. (Not making the effort to look up his name.)

Petitta with PWOs to Florida and Florida State as well as an offer from Lehigh. He’s a FL recruit so I’m state tuition is low for him at either of those.

Re:Petitta, nice compliments getting those PWO's. Not unlike Mullaly getting the Penn State PWO. Unless Luke has let people know he's "soft" on his verbal I don't know why Lehigh is offering our verbal commits.

Good question on Lehigh. That said - on PWO for Petitta - a little different. He's a FL kid so now he's looking at instate tuition at either place which is 6,500 at U of Florida. Big difference unless he's on a full ride at HC. That all said - i guess we'll see how it all works out in the coming days. Not great timing on it.
Shame on him for posting the Lehigh whatever the offer was. I think that part is garbage by the way of the kid. Don't post that - an in league offer? Dumb.

I was afraid of that--- kept reading him following other assistant/head coaches--
A terrific TE but would have wanted him on defense with Petitta at TE-- will see what happens in terms of Petitta knowing that there isn't a second talented TE in his class
App State seems to have gotten a significant amount of his attention, same with another verbal commit- and possibly one or two others--
Also, could be talking with his brother
at the end of the day, you wish all of the players luck and if they don't want to come- let them go-- you don't want to be recruiting them for four years
Full speed ahead this is going to be a busy week for our coaches, but the results will be terrific!

Now that Lehigh has moved on from TG, do we know who is running the program until they find their new coach? I wonder if the recruiting coordinator is the one offering our commits?

Lacota Dippre just decommitted I don't know the list of commits well enough. Is he a major loss?

He's a solid player and a big kid. He had a good amount of offers and was a good get for the staff at the time. How major - only time will tell.

His older brother, who entered the portal from Maryland a few days ago, is picking up a boatload of offers from BCS schools, including the Crimson Tide.

His older brother, who entered the portal from Maryland a few days ago, is picking up a boatload of offers from BCS schools, including the Crimson Tide. The older brother definitely isn’t going to App State. If they wind up at the same school, it will likely be the proverbial 2-for-1 where the brother gets him to a school he might not have gotten to on his own.

agree I was just saying that APP St was following and being followed by a couple of the commits
While rare that you pair up recruits, it could be a 2-1 at a place like Rutgers, making it easier for the family to attend the games of the two sons.
I think his brother transferring from a Big 10 school where he was playing didn't make much sense. But in the world of the NIL who the heck knows anymore

A 2 for 1 deal at Rutgers would indeed make it easier for the family to watch their losing games in person

I think it was for several of the reasons given but mostly because he clearly admires his older brother and thinks he can play at much higher level. Lacota had several low FBS offers when he committed to us and Maryland and Massachusetts weren't next to each other then. I doubt he wants to chase a low FBS school. Remember his final four, it was something like three academies and us. I doubt he's going to an academy but who knows.

Maybe one of the posters with a great track record in guessing next moves can opine on likely backfill? I've said in a couple places that I'd hoped Dippre be given a hard look at DE for us. I'm not worried about TE like I am about DE. IMHO we're fine at TE. I'd love to see a another complement to Will Robinson come in and get Ross back. BV and others are solid but we need more. We're still not out of the woods with verbals and still need to shore up a couple of places.

We need to remember how many verbal commitments we received early, so while having one or a few not sign is not a surprise or desired result, we will be fine.
Kids that had great senior seasons might want a higher level, but like those entering the transfer portal some might not have a chair at the current level of their commitment when the music stops.
Those that transfer or decommit are often influenced by others acting in their own self interest and not in the interest of their player, teammate, friend, son or daughter. There are some where this might be the right decision, and only time will tell for them, but our Crusaders will be fine.

hcnj - in terms of backfill - I personally think the money goes toward another DB or a DL/DE. I agree they are ok as long as Petitta sticks - as a result of PWO offers. If they were to lose him I'd definitely go back to TE.
They have 22 verbal commits. I think I've been pretty consistent on about a 28 person class - give or take a player or two because I don't have full transparency into who's coming back, who's entering the portal, etc., but I have educated guesses.
With the final 6 (ish) spots I predict a WR, a DL, 3 DBs, and an RB. I personally think they are good at QB, OL, DT, LB, TE.

Thanks for the updates, Breezy.
Holding Jones and Smith is critical who with Comestro and Thompson is a great start to D-backfield.Mmaybe Santee could be a safety. If Harry's instincts are right and we get at least 2 more DBs we'll be in great shape, especially if they are of the caliber of recent offered recruits. I'd really like a big DE commit.

Spinagotti is playing in the all-star game tonight and is a Captain for one of the teams. According to the poster, it is also a combine and college recruiting fair-- good opportunity I guess for kids overlooked earlier in the process Cure Classic All-Stars 832 Tweets See new Tweets Cure Classic All-Stars cc_All_Stars · 4h post by the player Blessed to be one of the captains for the cc_All_Stars game tonight!!
