OK, the team is playing better than the first 2 games, but will need to again step it up against Harvard. Massey makes Harvard an 8 point favorite with a 75% chance for the win.

Would be nice to get off the ground with a win Tuesday. With Monmouth and Albany lurking as well we will need a win or two before the PL season starts and we ring in 2017......

I watched all 3 games, 4 if you include Assumption, and I am not at all sure that the team played any better than against SC or SU. I think the talent level of UMass was much closer to ours than the first 2 games and that was the main reason for the closer loss. Haven't seen the box score but we had what seemed an awful lot of turnovers and neither RChamp not MA were shooting well until MA's 2 final 3s which was too little too late. FTs were horrendous. UMass tech fouls were something that we just did not capitalize on.
Hitting FTs, shooting a little better and fewer TOs and this would and should have been a win.

I know they charge to park for football, but if memory serves me the last time we played there they rang the chutzpah bell by charging to park at the Stadium for basketball. Maybe it was a football game, not sure. I do know at one time you could enter the Stadium and get close to the Pavilion 10 minutes before the game started.

They have charged for basketball, but I don't know whether that was because there was an ice hockey game as well. Harvard @ BU in ice hockey tomorrow. And I think the ciy of Boston has taken away a lot of the parking spaces on N. Harvard St.

An explanation on Chambers, from Nov 18. "The first was that co-captain Siyani Chambers was in street clothes after a hard fall in the team’s season opener against Stanford. However, he is expected to return to practice as early as tomorrow."

ncaam, you do realize these young men play basketball everyday during the summer. Blaming any losses or poor play on fatigue is ridiculous.

Is the game being streamed?
I could have sworn going once or twice to basketball games there parking for free right near the arena where the map shows gate 20. But then again that was probably when they were terrible in basketball. I definitely don't recall parking near the football stadium.

Harvard starting 4 freshmen!!?? Can our experience overcome their presumed talent? Remember that last game was against Fisher College and they held out at least one injured starter (Chambers). They are averaging 12 turnovers and 23 personal fouls per game. These are not bad early season numbers, especially for such a young team. I will add the stats on three more players (to my earlier post).

While I share concerns with the team for this season, it is important to keep in perspective that our first four games this season (all against top 150 teams) is the most difficult four-game stretch to begin a season since...? Here's hoping shots are falling tonight at Lavietes

Harvard starting 4 freshmen!!?? Can our experience overcome their presumed talent? In their only D1 game (vs Stanford), they only started one freshman - but all of them saw action. Harvard doesn't list their expected starters in their Game Notes, so it is up in the air who starts. I doubt more than two frosh will be in the starting lineup - but there is no question there freshman class is loaded.

As has been said by many folks here on CROSSPORTS, look at minutes played, it does not matter who starts, especially in this early season.
