Weird list for value as Mass Maritime is cheaper and has better salaries of recent grads than Michigan and UVA but behind them. money.com/best-colleges/

Any list that puts us at #5 (just below Hamilton and just above St. Olaf’s) nationally while burying Colgate way down at #29 is remarkable. A quick glance tells me our “early career earnings” number was a significant reason for our nice position on this particular ranking. money.com/best-colleges/rankings/best-liberal-arts/

I'll take this as a positive although I know there are many observers who believe that the only ranking that counts is the one from US News

The fact that USNews gives a huge weight to "reputation" instead of objective results, skews it and prevents much change in the rankings.

There is a thread over on the WIlliam & Mary board on the growing number of young people who are choosing not to go to college. The thread begins with a long article from the Hechinger Report that states there are 4,000,000 fewer college students than 10 years ago. I knew the numbers had been declining but I didn’t think it was that bad.

St. Anselm made the news today because Mike Pence spoke at the St. Anselm College Institute of New Hampshire Politics and his comments made the national news channels while standing at a podium right in front of the St. Anselm College logo.
That won't move St. Anselm up the rankings on it's own but it's positive free (earned) media and everything helps.
St. Anselm has an indirect connection to Presidential politics because it's located in Manchester, NH and they are working that angle. I respect that.

I think St A’s has hosted debates during presidential primaries

I think St A’s has hosted debates during presidential primaries Just like UNH and NH Tech.... If the national parties decide to change the order of primaries, the NH schools will likely find fewer chances to host the candidates. Any long time resident of southern NH who is even casually interested in politics has met many presidential candidates over the years.

/\ I'm too lazy to look it up but I recall reading enrollment rates over the past decade are declining - and that change is almost entirely driven by men. (A couple of researchers have eyeballed that component of decline rather than eyeballing racial differences.) I have also read that Covid has accelerated that trend - something we've seen in the gender stats (if we can confine ourselves to two genders in this context) at HC and other institutions.
There is some concern regarding closing the gender gap regarding education.

HC received high marks from Money Magazine rankings of LAC and overall ranking of colleges and universities Except it does not include any universities accepting 20 percent (or fewer) applicants.

The correct link to the Department of Education Report is: nces.ed.gov/programs/coe/indicator/cpaYour recollection is correct. From the Department of Education report.

Universities aren't liberal arts colleges. Except in tweets by high school athletes expressing they are blessed to receive an offer from Holy Cross University.

A greenback is worth more than a euro today. That has to be good for a college that sends students to Europe to study.
