The Hoyas might be better than Lehigh, Bucknell, and Lafayette Watched two of their practices and the result on Saturday is consistent A long season but I wasn’t surprised by the win, but by the spread A good sign Georgetown is an appropriate football member of the PL. I wouldn't want to lose them to the non-scholly Pioneer League. If you have a prestigious degree to offer like in the IL, lack of scholarships can be worked around to be competitive with PL scholarship teams.

Cue DFW Hoya to explain to you why Georgetown will never be competitive without scholarships, how the AI punishes Georgetown for having the league's highest avg SAT score and why they will also never join the Pioneer League.

According to a former and late AD at Gtown, and a close family friend, known to many of the older and NYC alums, Frank Rienzo, . The Patriot League is where the school and Alums want Gtown. according to he and the Head of Admissions the football spots are incredibly competitie but the money is not out of reach for any player. DFW might have different info but that is what I believe to be trueMY COMMENTS ARE VERY MANY YEARS AGO

Georgetown can be competitive without scholarships. If not we'd dominate Harvard and Yale.

efg—you are talking about football only, right? The alums certainly don’t want to become full members for all sports

Georgetown can be competitive without scholarships. If not we'd dominate Harvard and Yale. Harvard and Yale can make attendance tuition free for most athletes. Gtown cannot come close to that

Supposedly (according to DFW), Georgetown is at a disadvantage within the PL because their average SAT is so high. Therefore they cannot admit certain football players that would be admissible at other member schools.
Makes sense but my question is this -- wouldn't the Ivy AI in that case be a supposed disadvantage to Harvard, Yale and Princeton? Of course that doesn't seem to be the case on the football field, or in other sports either.

That is true for all non basketball sports, but it has an older version of Ivy AI it has used for some other sports. Football is/was one
still more difficult and complicated than PL requirements, but not as tough as it is for most in the Admissions process to become a Hoya

If Georgetown were to generally give 100% financial aid to its football players (as is the case HYP) we would see their player quality rise. [It is also true Georgetown’s AI may be more restrictive than some/all other PL football members.]

A strong GTown football program would be tremendous for the Patriot League...

There isn't a clunker of a school in the FB PL. Quality of football program is another matter but week one is encouraging.
