Maybe it's just me, but I find Kevin Gehl to be pretty annoying. Would rather and the Shea - Lacombe pairing in the booth and then take-your-pick on the sidelines.

So, we beat them 27-20 last year at their place and, unlike most years, we have a large proportion of our players returning who beat a better FBS team than the one we beat last year and beat a presumed weak FCS team that upset us last year and we are playing at home. And we’re the underdogs? Unless Yale had a lot of great injured players last year who weren’t in our game or they got even better younger players than they had last year, this looks like a probable win for the Crusaders. Granted, another very close, tight game but still a win. No question that we should not take them lightly but any objective person should think we’d be favored. And let’s not forget the last time Yale played a game (and lost, BTW) was over 40 weeks ago while we beat FBS Buffalo about 7 days ago. We’re at game speed and they’re shaking the rust out and seeing what works v a high quality FCS opponent. Yale has had three "practice games" whatever that is worth.

Bet they win all 3 of those games.😉 Let’s see how they do in the real game tomorrow. I have to admit that I’m nervous.

You are not alone with that feeling. I just don't like feeling so ignorant about Yale, their players and their possible plans.

It's like idling a standard shift car at a red light on a hill, trying to keep it steady without going too far forward or backward. Coach Chesney has to get the players up but not too up specifically for the circumstances of each game in the season.

It may be old but Fitton cleans up very nicely. Truly a treasure.

I mentioned this elsewhere but, I was on the football field at Fitton recently, and it is remarkable how nice it is.

Seems to be some excitement on campus. Not sure how much of that is a beautiful day for tailgating and how much of it is for the football. Hopefully the students show up in force and . . . stick with me here . . . actually make noise during the game.

Looking at the game notes… Gehl and Shea will be in the booth calling the game and Lacombe on the sidelines. Excited that the charter 3 (spectrum 1) team will be producing this game. I think when they do the games, the overall production/viewing experience is much better. Now if we can only improve the power supply on the visitors side of Fitton so we can broadcast games from that side of the field. Mr. Pak, are you able to help us figure out what needs to be done to make this happen? An extension cord?

I was surprised there were still passes available for both freshman field and West lot as of a few hours ago. Don’t think HC alums are used to buying parking in advance.

Kevin Shea and Andy LaComb together are great. Maybe Andy will buttonhole local sports figures in attendance for a word and we will get an insight into how much enthusiasm HC football is generating in the community.

All kidding aside, cameras on the visitor side would give a much better look at the stadium and the HC crowd. If we get a good FCS crowd, we certainly want to get credit for it.

Unfortunately this was my first full week back im the classroom and I'm sidelined with some sort of virus I caught from the gaggle of students hacking up lungs in my class. Cheering on in spirit and hoping my 10-11k attendance prediction is too low. GO CROSS GO!

We miss Bob Fouracre for many reasons, but one is that it would have been most entertaining to hear him take a crack at reporting a penalty on Yale defensive lineman Osorachukwu Ifesinachukwu
