Fairfield University Announces Location of Bellarmine Campus in Partnership With Diocese of Bridgeport at Site of Former St. Ambrose School
Fairfield University and the Diocese of Bridgeport have announced that Fairfield Bellarmine, a new academic unit that will offer a two-year associate’s degree program, will open in Fall of 2023 at the site of the former St. Ambrose School on Boston Avenue in Bridgeport, Conn. Fairfield Bellarmine will prepare students for transition to a bachelor’s degree program at a variety of four-year institutions, or for meaningful employment. The creation of this two-year associate’s degree program designed to serve students in the Bridgeport community, is part of the University’s strategic partnership with the Diocese of Bridgeport, “Pathways to Higher Learning.”

A Diocese that works with it's Catholic Colleges? How quaint. HC supports an inner city middle school. The Diocese ex-communicated the school. Or whatever the correct term is.

I have some negative history with Fairfield, but I have only admiration for this move by them.

Sacred Heart University was founded by the Bishop of the Diocese of Bridgeport, and AFAIK continues under the aegis of the diocese. Does SHU not want to grant award associate's degrees?
