Let me try to give you an answer:
1. Many of us here are football and men’s basketball fans and that’s our focus 2. BC has been in HE for many more years than HC and there is a presumption they have recruiting and coaching down better than the relative newbie Crusaders 3. The Cross has struggled to win ANY games so a win over BC might not be like the men beating Minnesota in the NCAAs years ago but even a 4th place team win would have been an accomplishment.
Does that answer your question?

Does that answer your question? BC has ONLY had a women's varsity hockey program since 1994-1995. Got to remember Providence and UNH are the historic Women's Hockey programs in New England.

Not sure how that is a successful rebuttal to my point. I'm not going to look it up, because I am sure you will, but did BC start out in Hockey East? I suspect they did. In which case my 2nd point is still valid.
If that is incorrect, I will stand corrected.

They didn't win a regular season title until 2013-2014 and won it every year through the 2017-2018 season. They have not won the regular season or post season title since.

Tough OT loss against BU tonight, not sure where BU stands in the league, but at least they are getting competitive with our turnpike competition.

Now, can they repeat this victory at home on Friday the 13th against this same BU team? Will the Terriers be looking for revenge in this Turnpike Trophy game?!! (Does anyone think any players at either school on any team thinks about this Trophy?)

(Does anyone think any players at either school on any team thinks about this Trophy?) The NESN broadcast made a big deal of the Turnpike Trophy last night. I know most of us (if not all) could care less about the trophy but they mentioned on the broadcast that HC has never won the trophy. If it is true - not really a surprise since, as I understand it, each sport is treated the same - a dual swim meet would count the same as a Men's or Women's basketball game where HC would be more competitive.

Make the BU team walk under a ladder on Friday the 13th to enter the Hart Center. I can't imagine what any discussion among players about the Turnpike Trophy would entail.
The Trophy is awarded in the Spring after all contests between these two fine institutions have been played, I assume. Perhaps HC fans should start tracking which date HC is mathematically eliminated each year to see if we can start to push that date from closer to Christmas to closer to Easter.

My comment on the Turnpike Trophy was intended as a throwaway line. And, I really am not trying to derail the discussion of the fine Crusader win last night, with or without the head coach, Foley.
But, it is my understanding that, yes, we never won the Trophy and with the odds totally stacked against us, will never win it. That's why the concept is plain, flat out, stupid, other than the nice use of alliteration. Not Nate's brightest idea. (If he wasn't the one who thought it up, he had to sign off on it). We have a better chance of getting into the ACC and becoming national basketball champions. Or me winning the $1.1 billion Megamillions.
My hope is that Kit would say something to the effect: "Terriers, you won this trophy fair and square, so keep it, now and forever and now let's do away with this joke."

Greater video. Seeing that team enthusiasm it almost felt like being there (but warmer and out of the snow). Congratulations!

Who is the man with the full beard at the end of the video, an HC administrator? A Red Sox assistant GM? A Moderna executive?
Congratulations Crusader Women's Hockey.
