Good to put this stinker in the rear view mirror. We are a very good team to be able to play so below our potential and still come out with a win. Kudos to Lafayette for their performance today. They will give Fordham all they can handle.

Despite how well Lafayette performed we are too good to find today an acceptable effort

Anybody have thoughts about today that she’d light on what to do I am not sure if it was our execution or the preparation and coaching by Lafayette? Clearly both

Looked to be a few injuries, might make things tougher next week.

Our ranking may go down, and rightfully so. I think the Fordham game is a tossup ss had the same penalty yardage as rushing- 99. Lafayette deserves almost all the credit, but the 3 defensive personal fouls were inexcusable

Take 3 knees out of respect for LU. That's a charitable take from a UHC guy.

Really surprised these announcers weren't hired to be the LC coaches I am surprised they weren't offered officiating positions! They clearly knew better than the refs today.

I haven’t read this whole thread but can imagine the tone . To say we played terribly is an understatement- it’s all Laf’s fault that they lost This W was Highway Robbery to an extent I have never seen is many years of watching football - we had no business getting that win

Even very good teams falter. Someone above me mentioned Syracuse almost pulling the upset. The mark of a good team isn’t only consistency, but also pulling it out for the win even on your bad days. While we played less than optimal in all three phases, I’m not worried about our preparation and execution against fordham. It’s gonna be a dog fight for sure but Iike our odds.

As I posted before the game on AGS....this game had almost every element of a "trap game"....I haven't seen yet, was at a wedding but a good team somehow pulls out these types of games....win and move on....get ready for the Rams next week.

There's nearly always, in every sport, a game where a team that should win easily etc either doesn't show up or the other team plays ovah their heads or both....the only HC football team in my years on this mortal coil that took care of business each and every week was the 1987 team.
Just be glad we somehow won today and are not still coached by Gilmore who somehow snatched defeat from the jaws of victory today.

No excuse for the performances by the D or QB today Just a very ugly day Move on The last 3 possessions LC had were shutdowns. Cant beat that when the game was on the line. Was the completion to Shorter the only catch by a wideout other than Coker?

I think the presence of a strong edge rusher to not allow Sluka to dance outside (especially considering it was Hamm) really hurt us. They often crashed the A gap to prevent a QB draw and had the edge rush. When Sluka took the really bad sack in the second half, for a second, I wondered if we should have put Pesansky in the game like Clemson did with their QB situation. I was surprised at how well their o line got pushes and allowed the rb to get to the second level. I think they had a few off tackle runs that went for big yardage. I also think the screens to eliminate the rush were well timed.

Can we win this? Crucis, FYI, since I put my lucky cap on indoors, we re-took the lead.🍀😂 I had my lucky cap and lucky polo shirt on. My son also put on his lucky shirt. It took the three of us to pull out the game today. Too close for comfort.

This game was a good test for HC. An underwhelming Lafayette offense scores 21 against a dominant HC defense. At the same time the Partds "D" holds the potent HC "O" to a paltry 24. And then there is Fordham. Hope this game serves as a cold splash of reality, a wake-up call. Obviously, each game presents a different set of matchups. This upcoming week is the time Coach Chesney & staff earn their money. The betting line on the Fordham game might be instructive.

Defense overall has outperformed some expectations it is far from anything close to dominant because of pass coverage

Why do the DBs consistently give a lot of space instead of playing tight? If the D line and LBs don’t get pressure against Fordham’s QB, their receivers are going to run wild.

Against Buffalo, both of our corners were getting burned. Harvard's little receiver that alternated between slot and outside also burned our DB's (although to be fair a couple were safeties/nicklebacks and one was a LB. I imagine the cushion is to account for that or just to encourage short, underneath routes. Besides all of that, i thought our tackling could have been better. We took bad routes to get to ball carriers, especially off the edge.

It would have been lucky as hell to get a reversal, but I swear one of those "handoffs" on that razxle dazzle TD was a shovel pass. Having said that, thought the game was well officiated.

They officially reviewed that play and it was indeed 100% clean. The worst blown call was actually Coker's third down catch in the red zone on the TD drive. No way he caught that ball. To be fair, it didn't really make a difference anyway. After the holding call on Oliver's run and the ineligible receiver penalty we ended up having to convert 4th and goal from the 16 anyway. And we did.

We had absolutely zero business winning this game. yup! Dodged a big one for how awful we were in 2 phases of the game. There were a bunch of FBS games like Georgia vs Kent State, Bama vs Texas, Bama vs A&M, and today's Clemson vs. 'Cuse in which the favorite had no business winning and shoupd have been upset. I think a couple of our big time players came through today and special teams won the day. Hopefully this is a ginormous wake-up call
