Never easy playing a Hockey East program, but UVM is 0-4 this year having been outscored 17-4. Their losses are to highly ranked Northeastern and UConn.
Hopefully our performance against AIC carries over to tonight.

It did not. 6-0 UVM final. Limited us to 12 shots. UVM was 1/5 on the PP. Although our kill did pretty well, we can't afford to take that many penalties. We were 0/3 on the PP and only had 2 shots cumulative and allowed 1 short handed attempt.
Grande pulled in the 2nd period, 4/7. Hogg 14/17.
IMO, Gale who played decently in front of a terrible team last year is our best goalie. He only started once this year and came in relief, but had the best numbers thus far. GAA. SVP. SV/SOG Gale. 2.68 .897 35/39 Grande 5.89 .784 40/51 Hogg 4.60 .852 69/81

One of my former students in his second year of juniors in the NAHL for New Jersey just committed to Sacred Heart. He won the league last year with a gwg in the deciding hame of the playoffs. Projects well as a top 6 AHA type forward. He is from Mass. and could have been a Crusader. I think Riga has an uphill battle with new facilities at SHU

I think Riga has an uphill battle with new facilities at SHU Hoping Riga can master the “have it all” pitch of Chesney. SHU has a nice rink. That’s the only advantage they have. It may be enough with today’s 21-24 year old college hockey players. Time will tell.

Time will tell. Shows "commitment" to hockey... No doubt. Would love HC to show a similar commitment but doesn’t seem to be in the cards anytime soon. Question is whether Riga can sell everything else about the school that is dramatically better than what SHU offers. Might be harder in hockey where these guys have put off college until they’re 21, all to play low level D1 college hockey. So, hockey is clearly driving their decision-making.

Time will tell. Shows "commitment" to hockey... Or a commitment to deficit spending. Whichever you prefer. It's one thing to "dress for the job you want instead of the job you have" when it involves shopping at Macy's instead of Target, but even if this new SHU ice palace was gifted to the school fully built, would the annual revenue even cover the maintenance, staffing, utilities, insurance, etc.? I salute SHU but also hope they know what they are doing.

Any update regarding the release of the new master plan for the campus? My guess is there will be an announcement of some sort at the President's Council on November 5.
