OK, Phreek, get your contacts in the Holy Cross Intelligence Department to fix the big black rectangle in the middle of The Jo webcam video. It's been this way for days and while I don't care a lot about the The Jo especially, I do like watching progress on the new dorms.
Thanks!!

It only blocks a portion of The Jo, perhaps hiding from sensitive eyes what may be a holograph of a mounted medieval crusader charging on his destrier, with lance lowered. (The view of the new residence hall construction is unobstructed.)

Good to see that they are framing out the second floors of the new dorms.

The Jo webcam is out again. I wonder if they will be moving it like they did with the PPAC webcam?

Back in play with no apparent change in view. I was told last time -- after vociferously and bitterly complaining, replete with foot-stomping -- that the webcams are actually and regularly used by public safety and the facilities department, and not just the sidewalk superintendents. These offices would sometimes change the camera's view, and, when done, would neglect to change the view back to the original setting. IT has now modified the cam software so that five minutes after a cam view was altered, the software will return the camera to the default view.

Well, if they don't do that, I would expect that you'll float some maneuverable intelligence balloons over the campus for the Crossporters who have an interest. I know that you "know a guy" who can do that for you.

Having seen and chatted with 1970 Class Dean Charlie Baker at the last home basketball game, he encouraged me to take in the Cantor Gallery exhibit in the PPAC and I was able to do that this past weekend but only able to do a very quick tour. There are a couple of swords in the exhibit and having been to the Worcester Art Museum a couple of months ago, I thought that they looked familiar and indeed they are on loan from WAM. I admit that I was not able to spend as much time there as I would have liked.

The Jocam has not worked since late last week. The problem is not the camera, or the feed from the Holy Cross end. The problem is at the company that supplies the webcam feeds to the Internet. They have been alerted.

They have been alerted. It is back on. Yes. HC IT reported that the host site was not re-booting the cam when the stream was interrupted. While the cam is back on, they were, at the time of the report, still working on resolving a software issue.

It looks like a snowy day on Mt. St. James. In central CT not so much (yet).

As of 5 PM, Worcester Airport received 11.7 inches of snow; Auburn 2.0 inches; 3 miles south of Shrewsbury, 3.1 inches.
Elevation is the difference. The airport is about 300 feet higher than Mount Saint James.
