"We few, we happy few, we (Crossports) band of brothers . . . " have been accurately accused of wearing purple blinders (or drink NAD's purple kool-aid) in the past when projecting upcoming seasons in almost any/all sports. But just looking at these predictions, it's just amazing. No joy in Mudville! But if Mighty Casey does not strike out against Siena, gentlemen start your engines.

Wow Your blind faith in Nelson is extraordinary Curious as to what place you think that 13-5 record will land And why you did not do a post season prediction

Wow! Setting himself up for more embarrassment or the biggest, most satisfying “I told you so” in our history. I hope it’s the latter

The past three years have squeezed the usual wild optimism out of me. That said, I always have hope; whether or not it’s based in reality is another matter. I agree with those who say the two D-3 contests do not count as games.
4-7 OOC 8-10 PL 1 PLT
13 Total wins
Please surprise me, ‘Saders!!

Just for the record - the”rules” for our competition state that we play 13 OOC games, so you should include wins or losses against the two D-3 teams in your prognostication. Then feel free to lament the inclusion of D3 teams on our schedule in your post’s editorial comments

Rules, schmools They should not count as games, win or lose. If the D3 schools, the tourney committee, Pomeroy, etc. all do not count them, they are not real games. New category- ferkata games.

Of course I agree with you, but all we’re trying to do in this harmless little competition is see who can do the best at predicting our W-L record regardless of whether we play D-1, D-3, or NBA teams for that matter.

Excluding D-3 school results by some simply complicates matters. Not sure anyone wants to see us play D-3 schools that “count,” but that’s reality. One is bad enough, playing multiple D-3s is just bad and a sign of desperation to pad the win column.

4-7 in the OOC against D1 opponents 7-11 in the PL regular season 0-1 in the PLT
11-19 overall
Because I don’t count non-D1 wins, but for the purposes of this exercise, HC finishes 13-19.

I have absolutely no idea how many wins we will get but voted for 16 because anything less than that should have BN cleaning out his office in early March.
We've all seen what getting the right coach can do for a program. Just look at Ralph Willard and Bob Chesney.
We also know what a poor coach can do to a program (Sean Kearney and to date Brett Nelson).
This is IT for Mr Nelson. He has shown us absolutely NOTHING in his term at HC.
If he doesn't take a MAJOR step forward it is time to give someone else a chance.
We deserve a competitive basketball team.
Good luck, Coach Nelson. Get it done. We'll all be watching.
But no more excuses...please.
Go Cross!

Agree with most here (e.g. no more excuses, we deserve a competitive basketball team), and disagree with some (e.g. grouping Nelson with Kearney, that Nelson has shown us nothing -- his recruiting has been very good+), but most of all, 16 wins is not enough against this schedule. It’s time to raise the bar for HC MBB again. Go Cross Go!!

his recruiting has been very good+), Go Cross Go!! Sadly, in 2022, recruiting is a two step process. Not only getting kids to commit, but also retaining those same kids. Thus far, 42 percent of the kids this staff has brought in as freshmen have left the school. I know the portal makes us deal with a new standard in 2022, but 42 percent still seems like a high percentage to me. I sincerely hope not, but that number can only go up if any of the seven kids still on the team choose to leave. Luc, for example, was indeed a very good recruit, but I don't know if that counts when he's playing somewhere else. I need to see that 42 percent attrition rate for freshmen drop before I will say "very good+"
