The Lakers would be competitive with Kareem, Lebron(a choice of teams), Wilt, Magic and West or Baylor.

Plenty of debate on that 5th spot, but a pretty good team. Heinsohn, Sam Jones, and McHale could all be in that conversation.
That Celts team would beat the proposed Laker team. When Russell was on the floor, his team won.

Size and everything else is relative; but Russell's skills are probably more valuable in today's game than Wilt's or Jabbar's. Low post centers are dinosaurs right now; shot blockers and rim defenders still very much have a place (e.g. Timelord).

It'stoo bad that the NBA did not track blocks (or steals) in the day of Russell and Chamberlain. I can't imagine how many shots they blocked

He rarely shot outside the lane in college or the NBA, but he did in HS and he did it well. He was a good ft shooter.throughout his career. 72%
