Wow. That's really surprising. What a world we're living in where 56-66 (.459) at Army isn't good enough, but 21-49 (.300) at Holy Cross is. Army must have a home run lined up. And they made it to the league semis this year, which is tied for the farthest they've ever made it in Men's Basketball in the history of the league. As sad as that is. Since about 2008 Army has for the most part been a middle-of-the-pack team in the league

This is a bizarre move by army. Perhaps Allen butted heads with the A.D. or some other top official. And to make it worse, they look like they are lined up to have a good season next year, losing only one of their top five players. And probably few/no transfers out

Coaching is a tough gig. The AD at McNeese State, who was a head basketball coach for 24 years, fired the guy who was his long time asst and his successor on the sidelines, after 2 years. The AD said the fired coach is a dear friend and a very good coach. He was given a 3 year contract when named head coach in 2021.

Why is he firing him if he's a very good coach?

Word is that Chris Beard, former Texas coach, of the choking girl friend note, is being vetted by Ole Miss.

Boeheim loses at the buzzer, does not violently attack those inquiring if he may retire

In Boeheim’s presser today, he said the decision was up to the University. That sounds like he was canned after 90 years there. Many had thought that long time player and assistant Gerry McNamara was the heir apparent,

Since 2013-14, Syracuse is only two games over .500 in the ACC.
It's time.

Hopefully KH is understaning if HCBN decides to interview for the West Point job.

Since 2013-14, Syracuse is only two games over .500 in the ACC. It's time. Ironically, Mike Hopkins; one time SU coach-in-waiting; is close to being out the door at Washington; been there 6 years.

Clearly, everyone knew what was coming well before it happened, whoever initiated it.
All those neat and tidy quotes from people don't materialize at 5PM when the end of the game that ended the season was in the 230-300 time frame.

If we're mad about Nelson, just imagine what Columbia fans (are there any?) are going through -- Jim Engels still has a job.

I wonder if SU would have been better off staying in the region but offering the job to Matt Langel?

Who are some of the "veteran" head coaches who are currently assistants that might have an interest in Holy Cross? I think once a guy has been a head coach, didn't make it, returns as an assistant, has a different outlook on what needs to be done to have a successful program....The one name that keeps coming to my mind is Milan Brown, assistant at Pitt..Not saying we should hire him again, but some coaches with a similar background..
