ESPN analytics gives HC a 24.9 percent chance for the win. Last week’s L is fresh in mind but HC prevailed at the Hart in early January. Game thoughts? GoCrossGo

After playing the last home game, Gerrale’s final game, so unmotivated, it is hard to see why they will be more motivared tomorrow.

I don’t think I’ve ever said this regarding an HC game before, but who cares?

Talent, depth and coaching have. For much of the season, true. On Saturday, the team defensive motivation was nonexistent. And coaching was and is ultimately responsible.

Even though another sad season is now already over for all intents and purposes, I'll still tune into ESPN+ and watch for a glimpse of ..... anything at all that will give me hope for the future.

By definition in the play-in round, all teams can be beaten. A few made shots, a few bounces the HC way early and HC could certainly win.

Been impressed with the individual toughness of many of the players both in specific games and during the season overall. There are enough other active threads on here devoted to coaching opinions, hypotheticals etc. Perhaps this thread can be devoted to the actual matchup that looms. Anything can happen. Would like nothing more than to send Loyola packing on their home court. GoCrossGo

I don’t think I’ve ever said this regarding an HC game before, but who cares? …other than every game for the last 1.5 years, the last 1-2 years of Brown’s tenure, and towards the end of Carmody’s tenure.

The Batch factor:
Two weeks ago, Batch was playing 35 minutes a game and close to or leading the team in scoring.
The last couple of games he is playing marginally a little more than half the game and scoring is down (no field goals Saturday). I don't know why numbers are down. For HC to have any chance of a win tonight, they need the Batch of early February

I wonder if he has been ill or something. If not - well, is another nail needed for the coffin?

Nelson took a pointed snipe at Batchelder's defense at halftime of the Army game. Seems Will may be in the doghouse which, truthfully, should be solely occupied by the coach at this point.
If past is prologue, Batch will be heading for the portal at season's end. Better chance of luring him back when there's a different guy at the helm.

I mean, when your bench is 1.5 guys deep, it's tough to operate a functional doghouse.

Massey says Loyola by 6 (72-66) with a 70% chance for the win. This season will soon be over...sad.

Kirkwood has a chance to shoot 100% on two pointers for the season. 6-15 overall; 5-14 outside the arc.

His picks are correct about 88% of the time so they do have a chance. I would be thrilled if GG's HC career could go on for another game or two.

Definitely rooting for the players tonight and as long as we’re alive. Will also be rooting for swift action in the 24 hours after our season ends, whenever that may be.

I wonder if he has been ill or something. If not - well, is another nail needed for the coffin? I thought the same thing on Saturday. When CBN took him out of the game with about 8 minutes left, Nelson spoke to Batch, not upset, more like he gad been sick or dinged and Nelson didn't want to extend that..Just guessing on my part

The proverbial "dog house" is looking as temporary as the structures of "Occupy Wall Street" towards the end. I hope Batch makes any portal decision based on how the next three years look, not the past one. This is where Kit and his team can make a positive impact.

Understand that KL opted for the portal after one year but not clear that is the path WB would follow. Any evidence to the contrary or is it just board concern that only brown grass is ahead without a staff shakeup?
