If indeed it was Paulson at Luth at 9:30, and if the rumored date of the announcement being Wednesday is true, then, IMO, Paulson is the choice. Today would be spent on working out details of the contract, presuming again an announcement on Wednesday. A dinner on the eve of an announcement would likely be in order. Miss Woo’s closed at 2 but Coney Island and Boulevard Diner remain open till 8 and 2 (am) respectively. Presume if there is a sighting at any of these establishments (or any of the more refined places that have opened up) somebody will have the scoop with photos to share. Someone needs to identify all of the appropriate spots within a ten-mile radius of Linden Lane and then assign a poster to each. I'm heading for my car now, and will check back for my assignment.

Paulsen was the HC at Williams when they beat Willard's HC team, no? He was....and Crotty of Middlesex Magic was one of his players.

I watched the Paulsen video and was impressed. He was self-effacing and comes across as someone who is very genuine. That video was impressive. He conveys energy and enthusiasm and gives credit to input from others, It turned me around on him. Of course, I have not heard from other candidates. Now I can see whjy some posters have been saying all along to "get Paulsen."

I think he made it clear that he understands recruiting in the PL.

Suggest checking Polar Park. Although the WooSox don’t open until Friday the winning candidate could be treated to a sneak peak — and maybe even a pitch to host a mid winter event there. Perhaps the 2024 Turnpike Trophy Hardcourt Edition can play a home and home at Polar/Fenway sometime in Jan/February.

Krikorian has not been a head coach in Division I but he did spend 6 years as an assistant in the Ivy and PL at Penn, Lafayette, & Navy. So he does have experience recruiting high academic division I. I think we all agree that Cheney “got” Holy Cross very quickly. With Kearney, Nelson and to a much lesser extent Brown & Carmody experience, “getting” Holy Cross is a very important attribute for the next coach. Having not spoken to either man to help determine that, I’d be quite happy with either Paulson or Krikorian. I’d also argue that other than ressurecring the Turnpike Trophy, ADKH “gets” Holy Cross significantly better than Pine or Blossom. So I give him a decent chance of evaluating that in a coach and getting it right better than either predecessor. Chesney....John Chaney, God rest his soul, never set foot in Worcester.

Bob Chesney went to a small college, about which I know nothing. He coached in New England at Salve Regina and Assumption. I think these are factors that helped him “get” us. I’m not assessing the quality of these schools, only that they aren’t in the big time. Plus his personality certainly helps.

First post in a long time. I didn’t want to be on this board much when Connor Niego was playing due to a conflict of interest. With that said, when the coaching change was announced, I’ve been following along with extreme interest.
Here’s my two cents. I was of the mindset that they need to go with someone that has been a head coach before, regardless of level. The guy from Swarthmore intrigued me, but it doesn’t seem like it is in the cards for him. The other guy that I really like is Paulsen. Obviously, he had success with Bucknell which proves that he can win in the Patriot League, but I think back to when he was at Williams. I was at the game where they beat Holy Cross. It was an absolute clinic. The way they played was an absolute joy to watch. While I wanted Holy Cross to win, I remember going back to my dorm room and all we could talk about was how much we liked the Williams team. Combine that with his success at Bucknell plus the guys he recruited to George Mason that are now making huge impacts at other schools in the tourney and he’s got my vote.

I’ve not expressed an opinion on who should be hired. I know Coach K’s family. Terrific people. I think he would do a good job but I think that Paulson should be the choice.

I was leaning toward one of theCoach K’s , but If we bring Coach Paulsen on board I will be very very happy. I think he can lead us back from the precipice

PL coaching:
Add: Dave Paulsen and John Griffin Subtract: Brett Nelson and Nathan Davis
Good week for the league; let's hope Army and AU can grab a couple of good coaches as well.
