Quite a difference in game plans and motivation coming out of the locker room. I'm not sure which one more shocking?

Just as a reminder...Massey had UMass favored over HC by 6 (62-56). Look for a better effort by UMass in the second half. I just wish it had not been quite that much better.

Does Coach survive?

He does have a contract, so...probably for at least one more year (depending on the PL season).

we were predicted in 4th place in the preseason poll. we have not had any injuries and the team is underperforming. i'd say adnp is in a tough spot given gibbons' tenure of sorts. if we don't have a winning record in the league, he might have to make a move. in a comparison (i know it's hard to do) american u. (supposed to finish behind us in the league) played at penn state today and lost by only 5, 70-65. after tuesday's loss at arizona state, we will be 2-9 going into league play.

If Gilmore survived than Gibbons doesn't have anything to worry about.

His contract is through the 2018-2019 season.
CTG's contract is through the 2018 season.

Depending on contract buyout terms, if CTG were let go this years, that's two years remaining. If CBG were let go after this season, that's two year's remaining. Assuming there is a substantial cost, don't think TPTB would be very happy about paying for four buyout years. IMO, TPTB and ADNP make allowance for key injuries, and their perceived effect on the W-L. From that standpoint, unless the women's record improves in the PL season, and assuming no key injuries, CBG could be on the hot seat.

I am not itching to see either coach be let go as some here obviously are but I don't buy the assumption that there would be a "substantial cost." Neither Nate Pine nor Fr. Burroughs are stupid and I would be shocked (few things shock me at my age but this would be one of them) if there were substantial buy-outs on both of these coaches. From memory both coaches got extensions to contracts that surprised many at the time coming off not such great seasonal records. This clearly comes under the heading of "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." My hope and expectation is that both coaches will show their contract extensions were warranted and early terminations will be moot points.

Not game coaching...talent. Coaches don't miss shots, coaches don't throw bad passes, coaches don't commit fouls.
One thing I can't understand is Gibbons recruited better without scholarships. Kids were more talented and definitely tougher. His teams have lacked the mental toughness that the Anna Kinne, Amy O'Brien, Kathy Courtney, Veronica Jutras' brought to the court. You would think that scholarships would have brought a bump in talent but I feel it's been the opposite.
Despite that he's still competitive in league play. More so than the men minus last season. He's had some PL tournament runs lately but fallen just short.

I agree that the results have been pretty disappointing once BG got scholarships. He had so much success when he didn't have them and intuitively, one would have thought that with schollies he would have been able to bring in even better talent and taken the program to the next level.
I can't figure this lack of success out. I don't think his basketball IQ went down over the years.
