Come on Coach Magarity! Stop with the 5’6 guards. We will continue to take a beating like Maryland if we don’t start signing BIG GIRLS and athletic guards unless the Patriot League is all you want to win. Go get some athletes. Don’t want to hear about academics either. Not an issue.

Griffin is a walk-on and a very good one - her mother coaches St. Joe’s and her benefits include tuition at other Jesuit colleges (according to the other thread here on her commitment) If you think we can break Maryland type presses with only Flanagan as a ball handler, I disagree

Ease up on 44, he's a football guy, not a basketball guy!

Hope we don't lose her in the airport in Ireland, she's going to blend right in over there. Hannah was her high school Conference MVP so to get her as a walk-on is impressive. Because of the unusual financial aid circumstance, I'm not sure she will be as far down the bench as most walk-ons are.

Notably, the Jesuit Tuition Exchange (FACHEX) only covers tuition, not room/board/fees. So, it's not a "full ride" in the way we think of an athletic scholarship.

That said. 44 is right. HC needs to get WAY more athletic.

That said. 44 is right. HC needs to get WAY more athletic. I'm sure that MM would agree, but kids that are WAY more athletic are generally not starting their careers in the PL. The depth of talent in HS GBB is shallow at best. As a result, it is near impossible to build a roster of very athletic players, you may get a few, but rarely to you see 5+ on a team in the PL or other Mid/Low-Majors. Typically, the very athletic player in the PL has other deficiencies that result in them being passed over by P5 and high majors. Generally, the quest is to get a kid that excels in one area (in MM case she seems to put the highest priority on defensive skills) and hope to improve them in other areas, especially athletically.

I’m just using my eyeball test.

I’m just using my eyeball test. Don't disagree with the statement, many of us have noted the issue in the past, particularly Haze. I'm simply suggesting its not something where they can just go out and easily upgrade players from a very small pool of talent.
