Will anyone on HC grab the Cooz' 17? The up-to-2023 legal numbers on the banners are not retired, are they? (Heinsohn, Togo, Kaftan, RP)

HC does not have retired numbers. Only honored players
I once saw a video of someone wearing #22 hitting a buzzer beating post season 3. There was #24 on that team as well. Not saying those are the only examples of honored players numbers being used, but it's enough of a sample to prove it's possible

According to the link above, that number would no longer be illegal:

Just a little tweak to the call. Now "upon review' the officials can look for a "planted foot"..It gives the refs something to point out, similar to players inside the arc in the lane...I don't see any change in players trying to take charges..

In line w/that number change the new method of signaling a foul will be first digit followed by second digit, allowing both hands to be used. So what used to be a signal for 25 or 52 will now be 7.
But, let's face it, w/replays, etc. available; errors where a foul gets attributed to the wrong person should be easily correctable.
