Don't take Harvard lightly. Recognizing that BC wants the team to think the next team is the best they'll be playing this season, we do need to play our best! We can and probably will win, but not by 20 points.

The Harvard QB is no joke. Watching the Brown game, I can say he is fast and dangerous if he gets loose, whether on an RPO or a broken play. That being said I do doubt his accuracy down the field. A colleague of mine is a Crimson alum and has season tickets, he agrees and thinks Grooms is a better QB. He picked HC by 10.

Attendance has dropped since the inaugural game. Wonder who the opponent will be next year to prevent more plummeting numbers.

I've been to all three. Great atmosphere every time.
It's a simple formula to end playing there. Don't go. Tell your friends not to go. Don't buy beer. Don't buy food. Tell the students to stay away.
The complaining about this is nauseating.

Nice to know if I decide to come up for a home game and it's there, I won't get turned away. Not sure why Harvard didn't bang out, I'm sure they'd have gotten 12-13K legitimately at Fitton.

I’d be very interested to know what the rev share between HC and the WooSox looks like.

The complaining about this is nauseating. You are far too sensible.🤣 I have always thought of city facilities as assets Holy Cross has in it's back pocket that a Colgate or Bucknell can only dream about Want to have an annual night football game but temporary lights, extra insurance, etc. are very expensive? There's an insured stadium with lights right downtown, the city built it for us. Want to host a big game or tournament after Coaches Paulsen and Riga build winning programs? There's a big arena downtown, the city built it for us. Want to have rowing programs and a big rowing meet (regatta?) but have a landlocked campus? There's a long narrow lake perfect for rowing and spectators downtown. God built it for us.🙂

Not sure why Harvard didn't bang out, I. I doubt if any Cabots or Lodges were at the game .

The PA was a little too loud and possibly drowned out the crowd. I did not find him too obnoxious just too loud and it bugged me that they are asking for noise when we are about to go on offense. We didn't need any delays, false starts, or bad snaps.

The PA guy sounded like the same guy at Fitton. Just a personal gripe but I don't care for him screaming "THIRD DOWN!!!!" whether we are on offense or defense. The cheerleaders, IMHO, are there to get the crowd riled up, not the PA guy. Then again, I'm a traditionalist.

At some point HC has to do something to modernize Fitton. The price point is no doubt challenging. In the meanwhile Polar allows HC to try to be responsive to some of the clear fan trends noted in the below. Not a perfect situation but for one game a year Polar works. Whether you agree or not that these trends should exist or represent your preference is beside the point. Polar was very well attended with many people enjoying the amenities. Trust HC overcomes the L quickly. www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Journal/Issues/2022/04/18/Portfolio/College-facilities.aspx

A positive about Polar Park...they appear to put sod of some sort over the dirt (unlike the Dolphins, Chargers, etc when sharing with baseball teams. I saw the crews with heavy tampers whacking the sod during halftime. I am impressed it held up and very happy we haven't had any injuries playing on the field. So I guess that's a plus.

At the same time folks can’t be bothered if it’s not a sellout. Also agree regarding the 10-point loss to Harvard - don’t think we’ll see another 5-0 turnover margin again.

We need at least 50,million for a very nice new first class facility. Or 30 million for a major renovation.

You (and Vince and Sean) know that I am already doing that!! But I have a history/foreign policy position that has to be endowed first! 1. "You can't win if you don't play" 2. "And a voice from heaven booms 'meet me halfway, buy a ticket!'."

Given the grandiose scope of some of these projects the winnings would not cover the full cost but would at least allow for the start of a campaign…
Seriously — the revitalization of Fitton will happen — and the success of the team this year and in coming years will help immeasurably in envisioning/achieving.
Look forward to seeing the rebound this coming week.

My Powerball will endow the team for FBS haha. No need to take ACC media money when they have my billions.
I would like to see some basic renovations to bathrooms, concessions, and possibly lighting. Maybe we finally build my detached media and luxury box tower.

My two cents on Polar Park....
1. For those that mention a great atmosphere -- yep, it was a great cocktail party with lots of people wearing purple; I compare it to the Super Bowl part at your house when your team is not in the game....people talk, they drink, they eat and they glance at the TV when there is a big play. That was Polar Park on Saturday.
2. For those that mention seats, my 40 yard line up high season ticket turned into first row behind the first base dugout. At least I could put my beer on the dugout! There is no excuse for treating a season ticket holder that poorly. Even moving up to the right field pavilion and standing the entire game was a better view but it ain't Fitton!
3. For those that mention the tie to the community, I don't think Worcester made money but Luchino certainly did.....love to know why this was such a financial success for the athletic department.
I will not be returning to another football game at Polar...and if it is part of the season ticket package, I will pass on those and buy tickets game day.

Ditto. Except, I am happy about Polar Park and Worcester; it's a boon for the City. But my first HC game there (Colgate) is my last.

Well, I've been to all 3 EBW Polar Park games. Slow learner! So, "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me; fool me 3 times . . . . !!! As posted previously, first time was what I thought was a "one off" so maybe that one doesn't count and had the best seats of the 3 - up high in front of the press box (PC tickets). Even those were not as good as my normal seats in Fitton on the 50 yard line 1/2-2/3 of the way up. I'll probably go for a 4th time because 1. it'll be included in the season ticket price and once I pay for something, I'll be darned if I let it go to waste and no one would buy them from me and 2. support the team.

It's probably not a secret but neither side has any reason to break it down and put it on their website. If the T&G or New England College FB Journal inquired for a story they would get some answer. I imagine Worcester critics (all municipalities have them) who think Polar is a boondoggle would be interested to see if the city is actually getting anything from events like this or getting rolled by the WooSox so maybe it will come out via their efforts at some point. Sometimes in sweetheart deals to attain or retain a pro team, a city has to give away the store to lure them or keep them. The city may only get a tax on tickets and meals tax. I hope HC gets all or most of ticket revenue and the WooSox get the concession revenue and advertising revenue from all the signage.

hc80 encapsulated it perfectly.....it was basically a cocktail party/extended tailgate inside the stadium....nothing inherently wrong with this but we basically drove ovah an hour to watch the video-board during the 1st H before moving like hc80 to a bettah spot to watch the game.
It's a fun night out I suppose but it will be my last PP game unless it's an important game (big league game, playoff game etc)
