Tom was a good friend to many HC coaches.
After Jack Donohue died in Canada, Tom arranged a Memorial Mass in Manhattan. Kareem gave the eulogy for his high school coach. Basketball was not mentioned, only his coach’s great influence on Lew’s (Alcindor) growth toward manhood.
