I remember when AD Dick Regan told me this fantastic 'Linda Johnson Smith' stadium (2006) would bring championship soccer to HC. Talk about a downer - we've had nothing but poor results Can someone ask ADKH what his plan is to bring competitive teams to HC ? It is true that the facility is first class so why are we looking at both teams a 'distant last' again in the polls ?

Julie Andrews answered that question in "The Sound of Music" when she sang "Do-Re-Mi." The money to pay for championship Soccer went into the Performing Arts Center and related expenses to staff up and recruit students for a world class arts curriculum. Of course it's not as simple as a specific either/or, but Holy Cross is not spending money on many scholarships for the non-revenue sports and it is hard to win D-1 championships with walk ons, recruited, preferred or otherwise unless you are an Ivy or similar level institution.

I saw Elvis last Friday in my local Post Office. Last time I spoke to him was four years ago. Had a nice conversation with him.

Sadly, Elvis has left the building. And who is blamed for that? Elvis himself

It is still a better facility than playing in a football stadium with a track around the perimeter. Once the proposed upgrades with seating of 3,000 and the additional softball facility are implemented, Smith Stadium will be among the premier facilities in New England. It will be a nicer facility than Tucker Field. 😀 That has yet to be completed after five years of waiting. www.unh.edu/unhtoday/news/release/2018/08/10/unh-breaks-ground-new-soccer-and-lacrosse-facility

UNH also finished 5th in the nation in attendance in 2021 (latest one I could find) behind only St. Louis, UConn, Maryland, and Clemson. (They also had the seventh biggest crowd in the nation that season.) Holy Cross wasn't in the top 50. fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/m_soccer_RB/2022/Attendance.pdf

Men's soccer at UConn on Sunday night. UConn was trailing Charlotte 1-0 in the 66th minute when the game was called for weather last night. UConn's website does not mention that they were trailing although you can glean that from their account on the site formerly known as Twitter.

And the UNH men played at said facility yesterday. It is the ONLY game scheduled for the men there all season. They had higher attendance than every Holy Cross game in the last five years. (not worth going back any further).

(not worth going back any further). You are carrying a torch for every Holy Cross blemish and flaw. Congratulations to UNH soccer and their loyal fans. Only 2400 combined UNH and Stonehill fans attended the football game between those two fine institutions on Saturday. New Hampshire must be a Soccer State now.

I hope Bryant is really good because they whipped us tonight 4-0 The Franklin Pierce head coach left and went to Bryant after the 2022 season in which they won D-2 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. A bunch of kids from Franklin Pierce followed him. America East has quickly become a very strong Men's Soccer conference as UVM made the final eight in 2022 and currently ranked in the Top 15. UNH should drop out after losing to Cornell on Monday.

Don’t be so hard on UNH. I met a whole bunch of people who go/went there and are very nice people.

1-4-1 record after 1-0 loss at URI last night - outshot 14-3 (6-1 shots on goal) AU visits on Saturday to start league play - don't know if this team can compete for a title
