I think so.
There were sure some nutty plays in that game, especially the game winning pick 6 by Jay Howlett.

Tough drive for Zay Flowers (BC alum). Gets a taunting penalty after a big catch. And then fumbles on his way into the end zone for a touchback. BC gonna BC, I guess.

My favorite play that day was the BC field goal attempt that was blocked and then run back for a touchdown. I also recall the frustrated BC player kicking his helmet from midfield to the sideline after the failure of the two-point conversion that would have won the game. I also like the mention of Spag’s in the video intro.

Not worth much, but, do BC alums pay as much attention to HC-BC games as some HC alums do?

I’ve been told by BC alum friends that they view their history with Notre Dame the way that Holy Cross empathizes ours with BC.

I also like the mention of Spag’s in the video intro. That FG attempt was blocked by Charlie Hourihan (RIP), local West Roxbury (Boston) product from Catholic Memorial and returned for the Crusader touchdown by Jeff Fisher, a fast DE….Philly/Saint Joe’s. I was a freshman walk-on watching from the sidelines. It was a thrilling win. Long time ago.

I’ve been told by BC alum friends that they view their history with Notre Dame the way that Holy Cross empathizes ours with BC. That’s about right. It’s been a very long time since this was an actual rivalry. Lots of us remember, but…

BC wishes it was a rivalry and Notre Dame looks/looked at it as just another game. As far back as the'60's I had BC friends say the HC game was not as much a rivalry game as it was at one time. Of course they wanted to win. They felt the game was more important to us than to them. Maybe they were still smarting over their loss to HC in '66. They never expressed any animosity toward HC or hinted at it. Years later a BC mom was trumpeting the ND game as a big rivalry. I kept quiet. I'm pretty sure ND had bigger games(USC) and while they expected to win did not consider BC a big rivalry game to the extent BC fans did. It seems the BC football program is mired in the endless cycle of second tier FBS football. Rivalries need to be shared and can't be a one way street. Who is BC's big rival? Does Miami consider BC as its big rivalry game? Syracuse? Does BC truly matter to any of its opponents as it does to HC?

I think for a bit, and maybe still today, BC&Syracuse were trying to foster a football rivalry/annual end of the year game. Not sure that's still the case.
I've said this here and elsewhere (AGS) many times....we need an annual, end of the season opponent....football seasons many years after the BC rivalry have just seemed to end with a whimper or abruptly. Ideally, Fordham probably best suits us as that game imo.

I posted this on AGS yesterday:
With Delaware leaving for CUSA, the rivalry with Villanova ends. Perfect opportunity for Villanova and Georgetown to start scheduling each other in football, and do it as a season ending rivalry game. It would actually benefit both the CAÁ and Patriot since we each have odd numbers of members.
Villanova-Georgetown Hampton-NC A&T Elon-Campbell Towson-Monmouth W&M-Richmond Albany-Stony Brook Maine-UNH Bryant-URI Holy Cross-Fordham Lehigh-Lafayette Colgate-Bucknell
Makes so much sense that it definitely won’t happen. And perhaps getting smoked in football 4 or 5 times by their institutional rival will spark some motivation at Georgetown to add football scholarships.
Besides Georgetown, the best opportunity for ‘Nova to manufacture a real rivalry at the FCS level would be with Penn. But no way that game would ever be a season ending matchup.

Why would Nova want to play Georgetown every year? I don't think there'd be mutual interest.

Nova wants to play in a glorified high school stadium every other year? Georgetown will never put the money into football I am afraid. HC is enough competition for them. Heck Bucknell is enough competition.
I would like to see us schedule Fordham as our last game every year but on the other hand, have Fordham early when we can get a good crowd from literal fair weather fans and have a nice cake walk in the form of Georgetown before playoffs.
