Hmm. "personal matter" or "personnel matter?" Hopefully nothing too serious.

What is the point of posting this? We're not even playing Bryant this season.

I can see why as a local school who we play in multiple sports in any given year. Again, hopefully nothing too serious.

The topic title on the Message Board
Men's Basketball Discuss Holy Cross Basketball & College Basketball
This is the right place for it. Even if not local, it's a College Basketball topic that some may want to discuss.

Grasso had a contentious post-game tiff with Jim Boeheim after Bryant's big upset over Syracuse last season. Now neither one is currently coaching.

Replaced (on an interim basis) by Phil Martelli, Jr., didn't know Phil Sr. (reminds me of the late Peter Boyle) had coaching offspring (Jr and Jimmy, who's at Penn State).
4-5 weeks before game action, time enough for Grasso to come back, I would think.

Jimmy Martelli is an assistant at Penn State. Phil Martelli, Sr. is Michigan Associate Head Coach filling in for Juwan Howard while he's out for heart surgery.

Multiple sources indicated Grasso’s leave of absence was a university decision. There is reportedly an ongoing investigation into inappropriate behavior by the Bryant head coach.
It’s unclear whether or not Grasso will return to the sidelines, but the sources we’ve spoken to could not rule out possible termination.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more updates.burnerball.com/sources-bryants-grasso-taking-leave-of-absence/#google_vignette

"According to the police report, Grasso allegedly sideswiped a vehicle on Route 146 South by the West Acres Interchange on the morning of October 1. The passenger of the car struck told police they were able to get a license plate number from the vehicle that hit them. Police traced it to a car registered in Grasso's name. Police spoke with Grasso at his home on October 2, in which an officer saw damage to his car, a 2020 white Buick. According to the report, Grasso told police that he had been at a restaurant the previous day and found his car in that condition upon leaving. Upon speaking with his attorney, Grasso agreed to turn himself in on October 3. Grasso was booked and released."
No injuries, fortunately. I'd be not surprised if he ends up in some kind of rehab situation. Not sure what the trigger is, but this guy's got problems.

Doesn't smell good for Grasso.
Does the morning of October 1 mean the wee hours of the morning or during the morning commute?
Lying to police typically doesn't end well.

Have to wonder if Grasso's long-standing approach to recruiting - showering offers like confetti - is a tell. Currently 118 open offers for 2025s. Seriously.

This Grasso character definitely has some issues - here is a 30 minute bodycam video from the officer that visited Grasso's home after the 'hit and run' accident. He's very defensive and seems to change his story at the end when his wife gets involved - you'll have to wait until the 4th minute here to see Grasso at his front door
