With regard to the upcoming coaches poll, my guess is a 12-14 ranking.
Idaho, Furman, Sacramento State, Incarnate Word, Southern Illinois, Delaware and North Carolina Central will move ahead. Bill and Mary will stay in front of them. Harvard should be ranked higher. They weren't properly ranked at #24.
Western Carolina and Chattanooga may begin to move up significantly. North Dakota Sioux (losses against Boise and SD State) might move ahead.

This start will make our hoped for playoff success sweeter and the upcoming Lafayette game more exciting than originally anticipated. Go Cross!

Think there will be any carry-over from the ban on HC fans during the pandemic playoff game? I would love to see a Purple Tide in the Bison stands.

To be complete, here are our other FCS opponent ranks omn the combined list: #14 Harvard (3-0) #51 Yale (1-2) #99 Merrimack (2-3)
FBS Opponent Ranks #83 Army (2-2) #98 Boston College (2-3)
Yes, HC does need our ooc opponents to do better in coming weeks if we hope to see HC get a higher rank.

Sac State should move up but not much. They barely got by NAU avoiding an upset 31-30. Lot of movement this week with upsets vs unranked teams. The Good news for HC that won't be reflected in these polls...the playoff committee does not count FBS loses or D2 wins. We are still 3-1 in that regard.
BC with a nice comeback over an equally pathetic UVA team. Hopefully they can make a run at a bowl and hopefully Harvard wins out and wins the Ivy. That being said Brown only lost by 3 to Harvard (might show the impact of our turnovers and some poor mental errors on our part). I am sure Princeton can give Harvard trouble and the HY game is always a challenge. Old friend Western Carolina making some noise!

We gotta win out, including Army.

I hope they do, but we do not "have to" win out to be in the playoffs. We do need to beat all PL opponents. Right now that means beating Bucknell first.

Not to get into the playoffs but to have necessary winning momentum once in and possibly home games/byes. I understand your point but I still think "we have to." That said, Coach Chesney will likely still espouse being "undefeated in the next game."

Winning all PL games and a first round home game is a good goal at this stage. I don't want to have to get into the tie breaker rules if we split with Laffy and Fordham and they split with each other. Winning out, including against Army might earn a seed if BC and Harvard have great seasons and some teams ahead of us stumble.

As an unseeded team we can buy a first round playoff game
We are going to need to be road warriors this year.
A win yesterday and we were a 4/5 seed To get a seed not only winning out would be required but we would need a ton of help in other games
So forget what might have been possible and embrace the one game each week approach
Will see how this works out with a great team and coach

More moving parts, more contingencies, more scoreboard watching.
