Play Albany and winner gets Delaware with the winner of that getting William and Mary, URI or Mercer? If we have to play in the first round, I would take this bracket.

Yup...losing to an Ivy is a kick in the seeds. No doubt.
Win out and I still think a seed is in order.
As long as HC takes care of business in the PL an Army win will go a long, long way.

If we play in the first round, we NEED TO be at home.

If I read this bracket correctly, we would play on the road @ Albany in the first round. 1. From looking at the second round, it appears that the top team is the home team. 2. Isn't the first round subject to some sort of bidding process, anyway?

I believe they have us at home vs Albany but yes it is a bidding process. While I would like to be home, heck I'd take this in a heartbeat. As alum said, this would be a good 2nd round and quarters matchup. Nonetheless it is too early probably evidenced by Delaware as the #3 seed.

It's hard to take this too seriously when Delaware is the third seed and William & Mary is seeded at all (they just lost to Elon).

Albany (including that QB) is no bargain.

This bracket, such as it is, could lead to the long awaited HC-Sacramento St game. Really hope that game happens some year....hopefully sooner rather than later as the guys on the '69 team aren't getting any younger.....none of us are for that matter.

When a school bids on a game, my understanding is the "check" does not happen until after the game when the attendance and ticket revenue have been calculated, correct? Let's get there first!

Albany consistently wins NCAA bids for Lacrosse and have a modern stadium....if everything is even, Albany is a better stadium and facility

Lights, field turf, a real press box, luxury boxes, ability to easily work with ESPN, etc.

Lights, field turf, a real press box, luxury boxes, ability to easily work with ESPN, etc. Money is the first priority and Fitton's capacity gives the NCAA the opportunity to make more money. HC averaged more fans last year during the season than Albany has capacity. I am assuming that it will be the same this year.

Admittedly weather played a roll, however thats always a likelihood at that time of year, but 8500 seats is about 2,000 more than we needed for our home playoff game last year...and is 4,400 more than we needed for the Sacred Heart game

Predicting playoff attendance is a fickle matter. Attendance that season and attendance of past playoff games can be an indication but there are so many considerations: schools in the northern half of the country could have snow and/or cold weather. Friday night games involve the workweek, traffic, etc. The first weekend involves Thanksgiving and travel plans. Our stadium seats a ton (Valley, Sky, or MAC level capacity) and we can draw against a good opponent. That must mean a lot more possible revenue than a Monmouth or an Albany.
I have a friend from Virginia whose parents and siblings all went to UVA. They base their holiday plans on the VT-UVA game. Twice that I know of, they vetoed plans by a cousin in NJ and an ex-boyfriend in Massachusetts to host Thanksgiving to ensure they made it to the football game. That's dedication. Hope that is what our playoff games are like.

Published attendance records indicate the muscle memory of family outings to HC playoff games at Frigid Fitton, passed down from generation to generation is still (shiver, sneeze) developing.🙂
HC-BC early winter games had a good tradition and that was before global warming so new traditions are possible.

Yeah a great tradition when after a hot shower you realized what you broke during the game. No global warming back then that's for sure.

Didn't they improve the camera placements so ESPN+ viewers can see the home stands after big plays now? That was the major drawback. ESPN is as good a stream from Fitton as from other FCS stadiums. Field turf is a poor investment for four games a year and permanent lights for one night game a year (in addition to the Polar game) is poorer unless somebody makes a dedicated donation.
