I have a treadmill and when I use it I play IFit training sessions. They're great. Recently I decided to use an interval training session, and it turned out the trainer was Gideon Akande, HC '06. Since playing football at HC and graduating he's been a two time Chicago Golden Gloves boxing champion, a Men's Health Top Trainer, and an IFit trainer, among other things. Pretty impressive guy.

Definitely remember him and he was a great young man back then too.

There are a number of entries about him in Google. He is a very successful man. Is he involved with HC in any way?

Couldn't ride the bike at NYSC without seeing him. Good guy, great athlete. Proud he's a fellow alum.

Re; Holy Cross and boxing, there was an article ("The Fight Club in the Fieldhouse") about the history of boxing at the College in the Holy Cross Magazine that had been viewable on their on-line archives but no longer there (Winter, 2004 edition for any pack rats who might still have the hard copy).
The late, great Mark Doherty '70 won the New England Golden Gloves and Bill Moncevicz '70, Bob Desaulniers '70 and Jim Staszewski '72, all football players also participated.

Gideon is a good guy. I've met him a few times at HC events here in Chicago.

Isn't he a nationally known Fitness Instructor/Businessman with an internet presence? Additionally, he has appeared on TV including The Steve Harvey Show. Obviously, he's a brilliant marketer who is as fit as a fiddle.
