Contract ran through 25-26, so this year and two more. Not being a lame duck makes the move even more curious.

There's a strong rumor: Their team took a summer trip to Costa Rica where the players weren't exactly behaving well during their free time - school investigated and determined the head coach is ultimately responsible for player transgressions - we'll see how this plays out with their other coaches and if players take a hike now - it was already going to be a down year for the Stags and now this.

Lesson Learned:
If you're going to mess with prostitutes in front of the players, get dirt on the AD as well as the head coach

It is an attractive job with the best mid major facility in the Northeast.

Bump- DePaul fires Tony Stubblefield.
Sometimes I wonder if the Big East will do to DePaul basketball what they did to Temple football a generation ago- i.e., kick them out.

Not with the Chicago tv market, even with a horrible team

This may not belong here, but I don't know where else I would post it.
Reviewing the long and (mostly) storied history of our program, and in particular, the gentlemen whom we've had at the helm for 125 years, I note that Head Coach with the worst winning percentage is the recently departed Brett Nelson. FHCBN's winning percentage was .243. I also note that in the 1900-01 season the team posted a 6-6 record (.500) with "No Coach" at the helm. Had we only known, think about how much money and angst could have been saved in the 2019-23 time period!

More and more firings are going to take place in these mega leagues. Even if half an 18 team league gets a NCAA bid, 9 do not.

The WCC tourney matchup tomorrow between Pacific and Pepperdine features two programs that have just fired their coaches although it sounds like the latter still has its coach in place until the season ends.

Pacific went 0-16 in the WCC regular season. Tough to do worse than that.

Can Tavaris Hardy be far behind? Hiring Mike Brennan didn't help much this season. Hardy should have been let go last year. Don't see how he survives this carousel.

Can Tavaris Hardy be far behind? Hiring Mike Brennan didn't help much this season. Hard to assess much responsibility to the hiring of any assistant coach for the shortcomings of a head coach with little success beforehand.

Pepperdine leads Pacific 56-9 at the half. I can’t even fathom something like that in division 1 ball…

I guess the Pacific players expressed what they thought of their head coach being canned before the tournament, not that 29-65 doesn't tend to get one fired. Oh, excuse me, he wasn't fired, he was "reassigned to other duties". Lost 17 in a row to end the season. I guess the best you can say about Judson Martindale's college basketball career (he's got a year left somewhere if there's mutual interest) is he consistently ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. As far as Holy Cross goes, it took them a year to replace him with someone who does the same things, but IMHO does them better.
