I watched Victor Wembanyama last night against the Warriors. I have never seen anyone like him. He blocks shots including 3s, deflects passes, makes 3s, creates cross overs, explodes to the hoop. All at 7’4”. And 19 years old. I am looking forward to seeing him all season, starting Wednesday.

Yup, this dude's a star already and he's only going to get better and better. The Spurs have had some incredible serendipity with respect to drafting. IIRC they were a good team when David Robinson got hurt and as a result had a down year that enabled them to draft Tim Duncan, plus they got a healthy David Robinson back.

If Wemby can stay healthy the sky is the limit. Also curious about 21 year old Chet Holmgren who also has an unusual skill set (though a bit shorter at just 7"1'), seems to be recovered, and is playing well this preseason. For players to be that light on their feet at that size (and show a nice touch from the outside) is really amazing.

Wasn’t sure before the draft if he’d be a dominating force or a bust. Looks like the former, assuming good health.

Physically, he looks like a Create-A-Player from a video game. He has arms like a gibbon, can shoot and dribble. Just a physically strange and unusual proposition to go up against at either end of the floor with the combined skillset.
