While we’re all very frustrated as we sit at 4-3 after a tough Family Weekend loss, a few things to keep in mind.
1. The players and staff need our support now more than ever. They’ve brought us a lot of joy over the last 4+ years and we owe it to them to stick with them now.
2. There are still ways we get to the playoffs if we win out even though we need some help to get in either as league champ or an at-large.
3. Looking backward or pointing fingers isn’t going to do us any good. Let’s find a way to get to 8-3 over the next 4 weeks and hope that’s enough.

I think that if HC wins out they get an at-large at 8-3. Especially if Lafayette wins the league with one loss.
Having Sluka, Coker, etc and their competitive recent past help greatly.
They'll also need some eastern teams in the bracket.

Probably in that last two in first two out conversation. Just hard to see us containing Army’s run game after today.

OK, 92, no finger pointing BUT, while I was one of the few who really thought this was the year to go undefeated and win a national championship, I now believe the chances of even getting into the playoffs are, at best, VERY slim.
I salute our guys for not giving up even when it looked like a bridge too far. Turns out, it was. But they ended up losing by 3 points, the same deficit as against BC.
The reason I think the post season is toast is because after seeing Laffy today, I simply can’t see any other PL team beating them and we need them to lose twice and we win out to back into the 5th consecutive league championship. And I just don’t believe the committee is going to be impressed enough with them winning the league to give us the necessary boost for an at large spot.
And, agree with the above statement that our defense isn’t going to stop Army. Where I thought we had at least a 60% chance of beating West Point, I’m now down to 10% and no Army win, no playoff at all even if we beat everyone else by 40.
But, I am still going to Fordham and West Point to root on the team.
BTW, no turnovers by either team from my memory. WOW! Considering the lousy weather and wet ball.

DeNobile threw for 262 today, I knew our dline would be an issue against a great offensive line. BC won the line of scrimmage vs Army and I thought we were even or a little better (at least our o line) in the trenches vs BC. Today might have been the most pressure we've gotten all year from the D line. Daly the QB foe Army was their leading rusher against BC, which opens up time and space for our backers and safeties to get penetration. I'm more worried about losing to Fordham in a shootout than I am about losing to Army. Sluka can light em up like Castellanos' 142 on the ground and can go over the top (the rain in that Bc-Army game limited passing completely). On to Fordham to get back on track. Hope our injured players come back sooner rather than later.

Look on the bright side. At least we aren't #9 ND getting shutout by Northern Iowa 27-0! Lot of rising teams this year like Western Car and Laffy and tons of parity which is too much like a parody of a season for me.

Army down 31-0 to LSU. In the first half. So, we just need to do whatever LSU is doing.

In the BC game, HC was the scrappy underdog. In every other game we've been the favorite which adds pressure and trying to live up to and exceed last year's success adds more. Now maybe we are back to the scrappy underdog again and can play with less pressure and run the table the rest of the year.

Even if yesterday was the start of the end of a great run, I will always be grateful to this program, for helping me cope with the disaster of the basketball program under the previous guy. Without the football program, who knows, I might have resorted to becoming some troll on some message board of a school that I had a grudge against.

I am sure some people will take offense to the score against the USMA, but I suppose LSU has to earn style points The last 4 or 5 times AWP has played a true blue-blood power conference team, they've performed very well and played very competitive games. At some point, you get blown out. That's just how it goes at that level. I watched tight games between the Cadets and Michigan, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Stanford in the last ten years, all were within a score in the 4th quarter and at least one went to OT. I was at the game at Michie when they hosted #5 Stanford and lost 27-13 in 2013.

W&M offense just not very good, with or without Yoder. Not sure what happened to their defense today. Blew a 17-0 lead and fell behind 34-17 at home, yikes. Long shot, but Towson is in the playoffs if they win out and go 7-4. Tough test v. Delaware at home next week. And tough games against both URI and 'Nova await.

They'll also need some eastern teams in the bracket. IF we're somehow fortunate enough to finish at 8-3, I'm pretty confident we get in. We're sort of also caught between a rock and a hard place where we have to root for Lafayette to lose two conference games, but if they're not going to lose two, please go undefeated to boost our "quality loss" resume! Unless, we somehow think the committee would give us brownie points for being a co-champion, Don't think they would, but not impossible. Couple things that will help us on the bubble if we manage to re-group and beat both Fordham and Army (both tall tasks) => the Sluka star-power factor, 2022 playoff performance factor and the FBS win factor. If we get an FBS win, and also have a close P5 loss on our resume at 8-3, I don't see us staying home. I even had someone tell me that at 7-4 with a close loss to Army, we might at least get a look.

If the defensive front can't put pressure on the opposing QB, the strain on the inexperienced secondary is simply too much.
Started to re-watch the game to get a perspective different from the stands.
Laffy TDs #1 and #3 a direct result of a freshman getting beat . . . . badly. In the first, he fell down creating a wide open pass and 44 yard reception setting up the TD.
On the 3rd TD, he and got beat for a 58 yard TD and he wasn't within 8 yards of the receiver.

Don’t know if some frosh are playing now because of injuries or if they beat out older guys or both.

Biggest series of the game, IMHO, LC had two third-and-very-longs and converted both of them. Held them to 3, but it should have been 0 and the final margin was, yes, 3. Another play of note came in LC's final drive. It was 1st and 10 or second and 5, can't remember which. Our db, another freshman, ran right by #22, headed straight for the qb a yard or two behind 22. 22 ran around end right from where the db came from.

My understanding is both. Pretty sure seniors got burnt on two long ones, too. Hope the dbs Chesney recruited for 2024 do indeed matriculate. Or the young guys get better like they are supposed to. Or both!
