This drops the NEC to 7 members for hoops, which is a very bad place to be. Seems like one path forward could be a merger with the AmEast to create a 16-team conference... else those two are likely going to be raiding each other back and forth.
Not yet clear if SHU and Merrimack have an agreement to stay with NEC for football, or if they're about to announce a new home for those programs too.
