Heck, that means you only have three things to work on and improve.

Helps that Lehigh's offense downright stinks. In his post-game comments Lehigh's coach said he told his guys that they were the better team. Geez. Did coaching for 10 years at Yale make Cahill think he is a Yale alumnus??

Colgate wins in OT, 37-34. And just like that, I feel the Earth has moved under our feet! Colgate is my new second favorite team. Don't let that feeling last too long. Fordham needs to be your second favorite team this week.

I enjoyed the too distant sound of the Lehigh band on ESPN+ also. Compared to Network telecasts, ESPN+/Patriot League local productions do not feature camera shots of the band or utilize a dedicated microphone to pick up the sound of the band at full volume when they play. It's a 3+ hour show and hearing a good band clearly would enhance it. The announcers drone on enough. You don't hear bands very well in the big games either, at least compared to the old days. Unless my eyes deceived me yesterday, the USC band is now seated in the peristyle. --the open end of the Coliseum. They looked to be sitting there by themselves, Not near the student section. Probably need a directional microphone to hear them. It's all about the money. Why have the band occupy seats that might sell for $150-200 apiece?

At least Hafley's comment about his team should have gotten 5-6 yards every carry has proven during the rest ... We have an exceptional running game and averaged 5.7 yesterday, Lehigh got 5.1 per carry.

I could hear the refrain they play between nearly every play (it's called Tribute to Troy), faintly but I could hear it. Always liked it. And Tusk, of course! BC's band does something like that. It's horrible, and not because it's BC.

Attendance- 3528 An embarrassment I believe that is an accurate attendance count. I would bet there were at least 500 HC fans sitting in the East stands. Will be interesting to see how many show LU fans up at Goodman for the Lafayette game in 2 weeks. As a side note, as I was driving out, I noticed a brand new lighted, field turf football practice field. IF the indoor practice facility gets built, I think Lehigh will be back as a strong FCS program.

Heck I wish our band had 50% of the band at any of the big FBS programs. Have we ever had band scholarships? Time to go to some band competitions and start recruiting new members. I play trumpet a bit my senior year when I didn't have a game of my own as my girlfriend at the time was the drum major. We only had 2 trumpets that year.

I didn’t realize just how crazy JP’s arm strength is.
Look at where he released the second touchdown pass to Coker.
From the HC 40 into the endzone. 60+ yards and off his back foot to boot.

And it didn’t seem like a heave. It looked to me like a smooth solid pass - that somehow was exactly on JC’s hands. They sure made it look easy!

Got to rewatch a good chunk of the game today. We really have to hand it to the Defense yesterday. They won this game. Granted Lehigh, coupled with Merrimack and probably Colgate have least capable offenses on our schedule, but this was a much needed performance regardless of opponent.
- Held Lehigh to ~278 total yards. Well Less than 100 in the second half. (I don’t count the 23 yard rush from the fake punt) - This is a very good day considering the Offense (3 turnovers) and STs (fake punt), netted Lehigh 4 additional possessions. The D held them to only 10 points on those 4 turnovers. They also forced the miss FG after the big Lehigh punt return gave them the ball around our 20.
Adam Due and Carlo Crocetti getting more reps now as overhang safeties. Due gave up the one TD but had good position, just making the play on the ball which will come with reps. Carlo Croc is physically different and should be a player once he gets the mental part of playing defense. They moved Comestro back to CB and played mostly Curtis, Chis and/or Stu as the 2-deep safeties. I think CB will be good fit for Comestro as an underclassman until he puts on an additional 10-15 lbs. He had to play S because none of frosh safeties were ready when Jarmo got hurt. Robinson continues to get better and Colin Reynolds had his best game yet. I also thought Frosh DTs Brice and Jovan each flashed more this game.
Huge challenge this week for sure.

I noticed more pressure the last two outings than previous games. It is fairly apparent that Army will be more of a challenge for them rather than our secondary--I am pretty comfortable with Daily vs our DB's right now--less so with our line

Yesterday there were a few delay of games penalties caused by getting the call into Joe that forced us to kill a couple of timeouts- need to clean it up

Two road league wins with your backup QB, no All-America LB for one, and a freshman football secondary.
Pretty darn impressive.

I'll admit I thought we were toast last week when we turned the ball over already down 14-0. Lehigh is a bad Patriot League team but given the hole we had dug ourselves into at that point, hard to be anything less than proud of how we closed out the game. Especially the defense.

I wouldn't be surprised if holding Sluka out was at least partially gamesmanship, with the main reason still being getting him healthy.

I wouldn't be surprised if holding Sluka out was at least partially gamesmanship, with the main reason still being getting him healthy. Could be. And for all we know, Chesney and Kennedy wanted extra time to install some packages with JP and Sluka on the field at the same time.

And for all we know, Chesney and Kennedy wanted extra time to install some packages with JP and Sluka on the field at the same time. That pairing would be surprising to me. Matt is a great running QB, better when the pass option breaks down. QB is a very different position from RB.
