AU continues it's stretch of poor play, losing at home to Army 66-52. AU's 5th loss in arow since beating HC American has really crashed. Some of the players seemed checked out. Still wouldn't want to play them in an early playoff game though.

Pending today's results, the top seven teams in the PL are .500 or above. Good balance. Lehigh has now dropped below .500, but there is still a scenario where the league ends in a six-way tie for 1st. Very unlikely that will happen, since I can't see HC losing to LC, but it is at least theoretically possible.

The tiebreakers are potentially a nightmare with this many teams tied.
HC certainly doesn't want to end up deadlocked w/Colgate; that certainly favors the Raidahs.

Not related to HC but the Davidson women’s team has cancelled the rest of the season due to a rash of injuries that has left them with 7 healthy players. They were having a very good year 18-8

They were having a very good year 18-8 Last week Northeastern women forfeited their game with Stony Brook due to "limited roster availability" which I am assuming means injuries. They did play their next game but used just 6 players. They've lost 7 in a row.

Crusaders strong and healthy. HC doesn't skimp on trainers, strength and conditioning and nutrition?

They were having a very good year 18-8 Is there some NCAA rule that says you can't/don't have to compete if you list only X-amount of available players? (having more than 5 of course) There's just a few games left. If they stopped the season because they are unlikely to win any of the remaining games, that seems like a terrible reason to shut things down and not compete.

Those who come through a stretch like this can sometimes be bonded even stronger after coming though it. It could help them in the future.

TCU women almost cancelled their season this year after tons of injuries and forfeiting two games. Were down to 6 healthy players. Four walk-ons were added via open tryouts mid-season.

Considering HC’s good fortune with a healthy roster for most of the season, I’ll be disappointed if this team doesn’t play well down the stretch starting today

Leaving HC off the table for this question.......
But who would everyone pick to win the championship?

Colgate has "big Mo" momentum, pending today's game, so I will pick the Raiders.

If I have to go with someone other than the Crusaders, I will take Loyola. I like the energy of their coach. She alsobrought them through some very short lineups (injury and illness).

With our loss to BU, there's a 3 way tie for first with Loyola at 10-7 - might have been a four way but Lehigh beat Colgate 55-47

The Bison might play a spoiler role. They beat BU and Loyola twice and us once.

Asked in the other thread as well- what's the tiebreaker if all 3 teams win Wednesday (or whenever the next game is)?

Asked in the other thread as well- what's the tiebreaker if all 3 teams win Wednesday (or whenever the next game is)? If I've figured it correctly, the only way HC doesn't get the #1 seed if they win is if Colgate beats BU & Loyola also wins over AU, & Navy beats Bucknell, Loyola wins the tiebreaker vs HC

As an example as to how tight the standings are, Bucknell can win and tie for 1st place in certain scenarios. Probably a 3 seed. On the other hand, if they lose, the team could fall into a tie for 5th through 8th and get the 8 seed.

It is crazy how volatile the season ending is, can't ever remember the seeding relying so much on the final games. The only thing certain is AU & Lafayette will be the 9th &10th seeds, everything else is up for grabs..

These things are happening much like they did during Covid:
Northeastern has made the decision to forfeit its CAA women’s basketball game at William & Mary, which was scheduled to be played on Thursday, March 7. Northeastern informed the conference office that it was unable to play the contest due to limited roster availability.

This seems to be a serious problem in women's basketball. Forfeited 2 games ago vs Stony Brook. Played the next 2 games (loss and a win) with 6 players. BU's only got 8 presently, by the way.
