1.) "a substantial merit scholarship endowment that will help us attract the most talented applicants from across the country. This estate gift also includes a significant faculty support endowment that will enhance the College’s pursuit of academic excellence, helping us move forward the first two key pillars of the “Aspire” strategic plan."
2.) "a tremendous new gift to create the “Seelos STEM Scholars Program.” This new program will support and mentor first-generation and financially-challenged students to team with Holy Cross faculty members in research experiences to encourage their pursuit of research and careers in STEM related fields."
No dollar amounts.
However, $10 million gift for the endowment would annually fund six full scollies at $80,000 per.

I love these stories. When I hear "annually fund six full scollies" I have visions of Admissions reaching out to brilliant students--perhaps in parts of the US where we need to recruit more--and sweeping them off their feet with the prospect of going to one of America's great colleges for nada.

nice to see that these awards are being based on merit and for those at a genuine disadvantage in life... specifically, those with financial challenges.
