You know, anyone not in New England would likely think that the main state university was in UMass Boston not in Amherst. 😊 You could say that about every New England state university besides Vermont.

There is no URI/Providence is there? No but I THINK Rhode Island COLLEGE is a public school. That's in Providence.

There is no URI/Providence is there? No but I THINK Rhode Island COLLEGE is a public school. That's in Providence. That's their D-3 Worcester State University equivalent, I believe. It's a neat, compact State with one statewide State University and one statewide State College I believe, plus one or more community colleges.

CCRI has multiple locations.
URI is not in Providence per se, it’s in North Kingston but they did, probably still do, have some night classes in downtown Providence.

CCRI has multiple locations. URI is not in Providence per se, it’s in North Kingston but they did, probably still do, have some night classes in downtown Providence. The main 1,200 acre campus of URI is in the village of Kingston which is located within the Town of South Kingstown. Its 153 acre Oceanography School campus is on the water in Narragansett with dockage for its research vessels. The school also has a campus in Providence at two sites in the downtown (Feinstein and Nursing Center). While not an academic facility with courses, the school has the 2,300 acre Alton-Jones Retreat Center in West Greenwich, RI.
