American wins at Bucknell led by freshman Matt Maycock’s 20 Mayock. Nephew of Mike Mayock. Apparently his dad matriculated at BC as well, was a qb but never saw the field due to injury.

The Big 10 network is now showing Michigan-Penn Stare at the Palestra. To me the game is secondary to the frequent mentions of the Palestra as the museum of college and HS hoops. Since the Naismith Hall removed their hs section, there are few places which honor the HS greats. Kobe and Wilt are among the many who are featured at the Palestra.

I guess Mike M, went to BC. Football ? Yes, played football at BC. Was a 10th round pick and had a brief NFL career. From Wikipedia: Michael Francis Mayock Sr. (born August 14, 1958) is an American former football executive and player in the National Football League (NFL) He played as a safety with the New York Giants. After his playing career, he was a draft analyst for the NFL Network, and a game analyst for NBC's coverage of Notre Dame football. He served as the general manager of the Las Vegas Raiders from 2019 to 2021.

Ugly, ugly game in Baltimore tonight, but AU goes to 4-1 with a 66-52 win at Loyola. Eli Stephens with 17 on 7 of 8 shooting from the floor. We weren't that good from deep, but the Greyhounds were worse.

I apologize if anyone has already mentioned this but a few days ago Georgetown gave #1 UConn a great game and only lost by about ten. Amazing to think HC beat Georgetown.

Yes, it is. As was said by others, a win tonight would be huge.

Ralph Willard and HC just got a shout out on the Maryland-Michigan State game because of Kevin W. Raftery and Eagle on the broadcast.

Northwestern beats Illinois in OT before a sellout crowd at Welsh-Ryan arena. Quite bounceback for the Wildcats after losing to the Illini by 30 points a few weeks ago and the stunning loss to Chicago St. in December.

Meanwhile, perhaps to be filed in the Grass Not Greener folder - Judson Martindale's Pacific Tigers scored 28 points in a loss to St. Mary's last night. Not Judson - his whole team; 76-28 loss. Judson himself had 6; team scored 14 in each half.
My UC Irvine Anteaters, meanwhile, won, and are in 3 way tie for first in the Big West. Not too long ago the PL overall was on a par with the BW, but if they had a PL-Big West Challenge this year I'm not sure if the PL would take a game......and it's not that the BW has really improved.

OTOH, Ryan Wade's UWGB team is 14-9 after going 3-29 (sound familiar) last year. Happy for Ryan even though he doesn't play much. Their coach is on the all-name team, Sundance Wicks. Wonder if he's got someone named Butch as his assistant.

I had a tough time processing this since it's been a long time - a real long time for some - since I've seen them play .... and who knows how much better they'd be under Paulsen's tutelage. PMs or out in the open speculation welcome.

PMs or out in the open speculation welcome. Let the speculation begin: 1) Reilly Sacred Heart (10-11) 11.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 2.0 apg 2) Wade UWGB (13-9) 1.1 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 1.4 apg 3) Lowder Cleveland State (12-9) 13.2 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 2.5 apg 4) Pridgen Northeastern (8-12) 8.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.8 apg 5) Johnson Charleston Southern (6-13) 16.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 2.7 apg 6) Humphrey Bowling Green (14-5) 7.3 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.3 apg 7) Martindale Pacific (6-15) 10.2 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.0 apg 8) Luc St. Bona (12-7) 2.9 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 1.6 apg Six of the eight are in the top 5 of their respective teams in minutes/game including Reilly and Johnson as #1s. Johnson and Martindale are the leading scorers on their respective teams. Four on winning teams. Four on losing teams. Biggest dips in production since their HC days are Wade and two PL freshmen of the year Pridgen and Luc.

Saw Luc get a nice chase down block in Bona’s win over St Joe’s last night on ESPN2. He really doesn’t play very much but that was a nice play.

If they had not left, they would be proud graduates of HC today. I think I would lean most heavily towards Johnson and Luc as point guards

That was my favorite play of the entire game. Luc has had an awful season to date, but what a hustle play.
