Elon, 73-53. White flag time - not much effort on that last defensive possession.

Looks like Elon varsity against a Holy Cross JV team.😢
I’ll still take Paulsen over Nelson any day of the week. We are obviously a work in progress but no where near a finished product. The freshmen look to have the potential that our veterans don’t have with the possible exception of Octave.

There are six coach-like gentlemen in the Elon tine out huddle. Is the NCAA just winking at maximum numbers of coaches?

Don’t know Elon’s roster but are their subs in yet? Five guys who didn't start are 12-19 from the floor

To quote Bob Seger — turn the page. Look forward to seeing a new thread tomorrow focused on IUPUI.

In 160 minutes of action in the first 4 games, HC has led for a total of 13 minutes and 7 seconds. Don’t have the play-by-play available for Elon game but I don’t recall many, if any, minutes with the lead. Hopefully, we can jump on IUPUI from the start. Tough to constantly play from behind.

I like how we balanced our poor play between both halves. Just kidding. Too many sloppy passes, rebounds better to my eye than the Winthrop game but still getting hurt inside. I liked our adjustments at halftime vs both Siena and Georgetown but I'm not sure we were too effective last night or tonight in implementing what DP drew up.
IUPUI or the wait that's not Purdue or IU Jaguars lost by 13 to the suddenly world beater Winthrop Eagles. Didn't see any of that game but I imagine IUPUI will win if we play like we have the last two games (doesn't take an IUPUI PhD to figure that one)

There are six coach-like gentlemen in the Elon tine out huddle. Is the NCAA just winking at maximum numbers of coaches? Not at all. Even in the Patriot League, there are often five or more in the huddle. In addition to coaches, you have a manager basketball operations, a trainer, possibly a strength and coordinating person, and maybe a video person. There is no rule about who can be in the huddle as long as the non-coaches don’t do any coaching.

I believe the announcers said we lead for about the first 3 minutes. I guess it certainly is easier to play with the lead, but the Georgetown game proved that it definitely was not necessary. When the opponent proves that it is 20-40 points better, it is irrelevant how many minutes you had the lead.

Who would have thought Georgetown would be our easiest opponent to date? Not me. While I knew they were not the juggernaut of old, I gather Cooley needs to rebuild even more than Paulsen does . . . . if that’s possible.

I never get over seeing all the people on the payroll for a roster of 13 or so students as the cost of higher education zooms higher and higher than inflation each year. No one seems to be able to get off the Merry-go-round.
If College Presidents ordered the NCAA to limit basketball teams to three coaches it would be one small step to reign in excess and it would be a level playing field for all NCAA institutions. The coaching fraternity would howl but most other industries have successfully right sized operations for cost efficiency.

Are we really shooting 59.7% from the line on the season? I haven’t been paying a lot of attention but that seems atrocious.

59.7%? So we’ve improved since the start of the season….
I think we have been worse than that one year under Ralph….
The combination of few trips to the line and sub-optimal percentage when there is deadly
