Agreed. Who creates these? Especially since it hasn't been that long since the largest mass shooting in history took place in Vegas. I get it the mascot is Runnin' REBEL but this is not the imagery I would've picked.

Think it is developed by UNLV just like the commitment pages are done by other schools

I deleted the original post that contained the graphic which accompanied Matt’s announcement posted on social media. Because the internet is forever however it will still appear elsewhere of course. Don’t think anything here should distract from the collective well wishes from Crusader Nation for all Matt accomplished with his teammates and coaches over the past few years. Here is another image UNLV posted on day one today from initial team meeting. Good luck Matt! http://instagram.com/p/C2KnH7ercoA

Heck, I thought a few folks would get faux-triggered by the “Rebels” name. We’ve grown!
Beyond that, this will surely be an interesting UNLV QB competition between a guy who’s started many games at UNLV, two FCS one year transfers, and a young QB. I’d assume at least a couple who look to be buried on the depth chart will move along to the late portal period at the end of the spring.

If Matt doesn’t win the starting job that is a distinct possibility. (I didn’t intend to preclude that possibility in my comment).

Can an NIL collective claw back any part of an NIL payment if the player leaves?

Can an NIL collective claw back any part of an NIL payment if the player leaves? I was wondering this as well. Perhaps the payments are spread out over the season and can be cancelled if the player leaves the team or violates a morals clause. For that matter, do they include performance incentives?

Perhaps the payments are spread out over the season and can be cancelled if the player leaves the team or violates a morals clause. For that matter, do they include performance incentives? Not an answer to the question but we are not talking huge sums. The report that their superstar (and All American) receiver (Ricky White) is set to receive 60 K this year seems pretty solid. Apparently that’s low compared to what the big boys pay. He was Top 5 in the nation and received substantially less last year. The implication was that his (the WR) NIL was for the upcoming year and not a four-year sum. So if Sluka (and the other veteran FCS QB commit) received some NIL money to commit, I’d guess it was for the spring. Wouldn’t surprise me if one of the two recent QB commits (and/or the oft-injured former starter) exits in the late spring (the next portal period) and that thought must have occurred to UNLV (and all the QBs involved).
