Crazy Sluka stat: In 4 seasons as a starter, Matt lost exactly ONE Patriot League game. And in the one game he lost, he set the Division I (FBS and FCS) single game record for rushing yards by a QB. Insane.

Another fun fact about Sluka and Nebraska, Anthony DiMikes brother is a coach on the Nebraska staff. How do you like that one?

Nebraska was one of the programs I had listed for Matt in the other thread. Others were Rutgers, Wisconsin, Ilinois, Syracuse, Indiana and Kansas State. Also keep an eye on Maryland (Tua's younger brother is a 5th year senior and done this season)

It's baffling that this writer talks about Matt Sluka at some length without mentioning his running

That caught me off guard too. Sluka's probably in the conversation for best or one of the best D1 rushing QBs. How they don't even mention that is beyond me.
That said, it's going to be super fun watching his interest. And selfishly, I hope he doesnt go to Cuse so we don't have to play him.

Both FSU and LSU are losing mobile QB's this year. Longshot, but just saying...

If it was based solely on his Twitter followers, he will have plenty of options at the FBS and FCS (obviously) levels. Partial list of schools with coaches that follow him: UTSA, Coastal, Alcorn St, Marshall, NIU, CCSU, Bryant, North Dakota, Miami (FL), Youngstown, Rutgers, UT Martin, Washington State, Syracuse, Buffalo, Troy, Pitt.

If Sluka winds up with the starting QB role at a place like LSU or Nebraska, I'd kind of find that more satisfying than a backup role in the NFL.

Buffalo knows him pretty well Also, I watched the Buffalo-Miami (OH) last Tuesday. The QB that faced us, Snyder, was rotated out for a more mobile guy during parts of the game. Nowhere near as effective as Matt of course.

Is Sluka 100% done at HC?

Is Sluka 100% done at HC? Anything's possible, but I lean towards he's played his last snap.

My hope is that no one from Holy Cross ever goes to Syracuse. That includes players, coaches, regular students going to grad school. I've lived in many places over my career and Syracuse was by far the worst, The weather was the worst. The people are distant (they make New Englanders look warm and fuzzy by comparison). In fairness, the weather may be a main contributing factor as I learned what the term "cabin fever" meant. You don't see your neighbors for months. You'd think that would make them friendlier . . . . it doesn't. The Orange fans, wherever they come from, are the worst. Ironically when the locals blamed "Long Islanders and New York City students" for the bad behavior, I chuckled to myself because that's where I'm from and no one that I knew growing up was as badly behaved as these people were. Now, to be certain, not every person there was distant or nasty and some/many were very nice. But compared to other places that I've lived around the country, the percentage was smaller and it just wasn't the best place to live. This seems more than a little hyperbolic, sader1970. I grew up there, though high school, and I was very happy to return there after Holy Cross, for grad school and then medical school. I still have family and friends who call the Great Salt City" home. I will grant you that it does snow (a lot), but nothing else that you have written seems right to me. It was a great community to grow up in. The last couple of decades have been tough ones there, as they have for many other mid-sized cities in the Northeast, who have gone through the severe dislocation of jobs to low wage economies, but I have always found the people to be wonderful and welcoming. I think maybe you have the less well known form of PTSD (Post Traumatic Snow Disorder).

I don't have any insight, but the mention of Arkansas leads me to asking whether anyone has seen a movie called Greater, the story of the greatest college walk-on in history, an offensive lineman at Arkansas. It's a remarkable and inspiring story.

If he will be the starting QB will certainly inform this decision. I’m sure he and Chesney have talked…
