Re: The Coker Catch: For those who can't access the Twitter X feed, YouTube has the entire Hula Bowl 2024. At around 1:36 there can be found Jalen's amazing TD catch. A discussion of the catch & replays followed. Announcers stated it was the catch of the game. And, it was a TD. His knee landed in the end zone.

Any idea why some players have multiple team logos on their helmets? At first I thought they were previous schools with the portal but a couple guys have more than 3 or 4. Look like a Nascar helmet. It’s been a tradition at this game for many years.

This most recent amazing catch by Coker is one in a line of amazing catches by this young man.Has there been any receiver in HC history who has made more impossible catches than Jalen Coker. I realize it's tempting to revert to one's time on the hill. The past can be seductive and fogged over through the mists of time. "My time was the best time." There have been other wonderful receivers but none come to mind who can match Coker.

In terms of jump ball and contested catch ability, Jalen is probably the most talented college WR I've seen live, and especially at HC.
If Jalen was 6'4 he's probably playing at a B1G or SEC school and pushing towards being a first rounder.

You have to believe that his draft ranking just rose a bit.

I'm not sure how this is measured or what it means exactly, but they definitely got it right!

I'm not sure how this is measured or what it means exactly, but they definitely got it right! At the end of the game, this analytics company was listed as a 'sponsor'. I assume their product is sold to NFL teams. I also assume the data was derived from the week of practice. If both assumptions are true, I think that bodes well for Coker

^^^Cam Williams is a WR. He may be the **** recruit who signed with ND last fall. And probably received an NIL to boot for doing so. His score is 92.2 Coker is 99.5, almost off the NSFW chart! I think about 100 players dressed for the Hula Bowl game. The #10 score was 96.5. Coker's 99.5 would place him at the very, very top of the P5 Elite. Below him in the Top Ten were players from the SEC, the ACC, Benedict College, and Troy/Auburn. Source: reel-analytics.net/

The numbers make it look like a real possibility...but, as we know, "stuff" can happen.

My assumption was that Jalen had received some expert opinions that he would be drafted (with the caveat that nothing is certain) and that is why he passed on another year of college ball. Figured he'd continue with college football and but at a more competitive level if the expert opinions were "undrafted" or even 'too close to call'. Not a surprise if he gets drafted.

Anybody give any thought to what Coker’s numbers at HC could have been if Sluka was primarily a passer? Fun to think about.

Anybody give any thought to what Coker’s numbers at HC could have been if Sluka was primarily a passer? Fun to think about. Coker was Sluka's favorite target by far and his ability to catch deep balls in traffic was the perfect complement to Matt's QB power running game. Probaby more yardage overall but maybe not too much of a difference. Guys like Asante and Shorter definitely would've had better #s and more targets in a more traditional offense. And Jalen threw some blocks too, a must in a system with a guy like Matt at QB.
