Today, the reconstructed cross at the top of the reconstructed spire above the reconstructed transept was lifted into place. The spire is above the transept crossing where the new altar (very modern) will be. I think many will be socked by the appearance of the interior when the cathedral re-opens next year. So white, and so brightly painted..

Fixed it for you. You're welcome! * - can always count on you adding to our vocabulary. For those, like me, who never heard of the word:
noun
1.
(in a cross-shaped church) either of the two parts forming the arms of the cross shape, projecting at right angles from the nave:
"the north transept"

Are you reminiscing about red ink on papers and tests returned from a professor?

"the north transept"Alter is Old English, and when I discuss Le Moyen Age, I revert to the vocabulary of my Anglo-Norman ancestors. But Thank You. I confused painted with panted, the latter being new liturgical vestments being considered by the Jesuit Pope, much to the consternation of the secular cleric Raymond Cardinal Burke, now temporarily homeless. But Thank You.

^^^ Very good video of the placing of the Cross at the top of the rebuilt spire. All in French. Might not want to watch if you suffer from vertigo. Makes you wonder how the earlier spire was originally erected in the 1850s. (The 1850s spire was much taller than the original, and the reconstructed spire is identical to the one erected 175 or so years ago.) ^^^ Yesterday, the President of France Macron climbed to the top of the spire to mark its reconstruction. I confess that I thought 'What a view!' And my mercenary mind monetized the platform at the top of the scaffolding as an ultimate 360-degree-view chambre d'hotel.
