Here’s one
If we had beaten BC there is no way Hafley survives and I’ll bet Chesney would have gotten that job. BC would not be bowl eligible and they would have been forced to make a move
Chesney would have been perfect in every way.
However, It would have been badfor my health to actually hate BC more.

Sorry, I would have preferred 1. Beating BC and 2. Losing Bob Chesney to BC because we’ve lost him anyway and he’d be getting more money and not have to move his family. He deserves both
Oh, and we would undoubtedly have made the playoffs

Oh, I agree on the tragedy of Sluka, without pressure, wondering to that sideline.

UGGH Between the opponent, the atmosphere, the delay, the fact that was the first play after the delay, etc., that could very well have gone down as the greatest single play in HC athletics history...also may have gotten Sluka a few more Payton votes to qualify him as a finalist

Idk if it would top the Frozen Four win, but it'd be up there.

Idk if it would top the Frozen Four win, but it'd be up there. True that was one of the greatest moments, but given the history with BC and our history with football, I'd say it would be the best. We aren't really a hockey school. I'd love for us to be, but we're just not there.

It would have been the best moment in HC athletics history. Unless BC got the ball back and then beat us. There was still enough time for them to do that at that point. Though I would have felt good about us getting a stop with all the momentum and all the remaining fans.

Maybe my generational hatred of BC doesn't run as deep as some others, but I actually would have enjoyed Chesney going to BC and having success. Sure, BC people would be insufferable about that, but holding over their heads "yeah, you're only relevant again because you had to steal our coach to bring your program back from its deathbed (after he came into your house and beat you with an FCS team)" would have been pretty sweet consolation.

One play.....how history would have been changed......we sure wouldn't be talking about JMU this week I'm gonna go out on a limb and have some fun with this. If Sluka scored that TD, we very well may have been talking about him as a Heisman candidate. Recall the Harvard coach saying that he should be in the Heisman convo....and that was after a loss to BC and a loss to Harvard.

Idk if it would top the Frozen Four win, but it'd be up there. I said play, not necessarily win (although this play gave us the win). Certainly nothing tops the Frozen Four except of course our National Championships

Which would make this year's hypothetical win against BC that much more satisfying. The odds were stacked against us.

What I have found in the months since the game is how little the event was followed/noted by the general sports public.
I keep asking people who follow the Boston area teams "do you know how the game ended"? And they don't. Just the final score, if that.
Guess BC's done a great job of killing interest in their program as HC's has moderately risen.
